Did you see how the team were celebrating in the garage when Olivera crossed the line in first?! They must have had the biggest party on Sunday. Felt so happy for the team to finally get he win, and Herve seems like such a good guy

I was on the fence about Zarco's incident last week, but after the BT Sport explanation I feel sorry for him, especially with how well he rode during qualifying. And that delayed start for him was really not called for. Bad enough starting from the back of the grid... I can't even comprehend jumping off a bike moving at 235km/h What a season it's been so far! The championship is wide open

Marc only needs to put in a few fast laps a day to be in Q2. He knows the track as they've literally just been there. So maybe not that much strain on the arm? Race day is a different story, but by then he'll have had many days of recovery...
  4. Yes, the Wahoo strap can be paired up. That's how I use my Lezyne GPS - with the Wahoo strap.
  5. My lens is on its way already. Great service so far, I'll test out the lens when it arrives and if I remember I'll report back
  6. Thanks, I need some new lenses for mine so I'll try them out.
  7. I choose all of my things quite carefully - it's not very often that I get something on a whim, so this concept has no appeal to me. Plus, I've already got all of the things already... Getting a random new wine every now and then does sound like something I could go for though.
  8. A few months ago I built up a hybrid bike for my trainer. As its only for the trainer it has no back wheel and no brakes but I used a 26" frame with rigid forks, gravel flared bars and 1x road gears. I like the look of it though, so I've been thinking about making a version for outside. With this idea stewing in my head for a few months, last week I saw an ad pop up on here for a Cotic Solaris frame going for a steal so I snapped it up quickly without really formulating a plan. Now I've been told I can't use a carbon fork on a steel bike. Is this a thing? Spent hours over the weekend looking for steel forks (this is half the fun, right? Finding all the parts) and came across one which I like with a thru axle. I'm a bit concerned about axle to crown heights being a bit too low, but I can't find any definitive answers on this. Guess I'll have to just try it out and see. The bigger problem though is that I'm meant to be making a bike for my wife after my daughter took over my wife's bike. How do I convince the Mrs that I need another bike before she gets one? I was half thinking that this frame could be for her, but it's probably going to be too big...
  9. After he just spent three grand on a service? I'd think not...
  10. Can't wait for this
  11. I saw a program on Netflix where a woman used two wings from a 747 as the roof to her house. Was very different but pretty cool. Apparently had to get clearance to build it like that as it may have looked like an aircraft crash site.
  12. Ok, but now lets get back to the BikeHub socks
  13. I didn't do the middle of the year one last year but did the previous year solo (I've done it quite a few times in teams as well). The year I was solo was when there were no school teams, and although the kids are always friendly when they're asking for space to pass I must say that it was nice to not have them there. It made it feel much more chilled which is nice when you're just dawdling along at a solo riders pace. Now having school teams back as well as e-bikes is going to change that again which makes me hesitant to enter. But at the same time it is an awesome challenge... Hmmmm....
  14. I would have thought this bike was crashed properly and was beyond repair. How bad does it have to be before its written off?
  15. I'm feeling quite sad to not be riding this year. I've done just under 200,000m vertical gain so far this year (the Savage report made this a viable stat ) and am feeling stronger than I ever have. So I'm well prepared to drive the car to the support stations

Would be good, but at a 1:33 he won't be staying there for long.

  18. I've been binging on 'How I Built This, by Guy Raz' for the last few months now. Listened to all of them. I really enjoy them, plus they fit into my daily solo cycling schedule quite nicely Its all about the people who started various companies, their stories about how and why they got to where they did, mistakes they've made along the way and essentially how everything went down. He's had some really big companies on there (Dyson, Jet Blue, Shopify, Belkin, Spotify, SquareSpace, Compaq, Canva, etc. Plus loads that I've never heard of. It's not at all 'businessy' though and always feels very personable and relate-able. Very often makes the gears in my head turn. And some of the stories are fascinating! I really enjoy it and highly recommend it.

No, but bad enough that he won't be making any friends with the mechanics today. The bike took a proper tumble in the dirt. He looks fine though.

  22. I've never been a V-strom fan, but this new one looks pretty good: https://www.adventurebikerider.com/suzuki-v-strom-1050-revealed/?inf_contact_key=1c8b28b2c903cb275898beaa0ec1bb61680f8914173f9191b1c0223e68310bb1
  23. Over an hour later.... The way they seem to be a community helping each other out and doing all sorts of custom stuff on the fringes of what 'normal bikers' do reminds me a lot of when I was into rotary's. It's an appealing place to be! I saw an early 90's NSR 250 come past me near Noordhoek yesterday. The smell of the 2T brought back so many happy memories and kept me going for ages.
