  1. Profiles can make things look a lot worse than they actually are.
  2. I think the squeaking must be a Spaz thing :D Get rid of the deep sections and put normal light wheels on the bike. You'll be disappointed if you spend all that money and find yourself going at the same speed. If you insist on spending money then buy yourself a Garmin 500 or something similar so you can start tracking your progress. Then just put the hours in the saddle and I bet you that you'll improve. Hill repeats & intervals, once a week.
  3. What bike do you currently ride ? I've ridden a few different makes of bikes and to me they almost all the same. The engine is what is important. Add hill repeats & intervals to your weekly training and I bet you that you'll improve.
  4. I've bought a lot of stuff from Joey and never had a problem with him. Just wish the other Capetonian's were like him. These things happen, just move on and continue looking for another saddle. Besides everybody knows that Sella Italia SLR is the way to go ;)
  5. I know what you talking about, I also had to dodge a good few bottles yesterday.
  6. Why didn't you catch us (B group) ? Some of your BIOGEN powered friends caught us at about the 50km mark.
  7. I think this is going to be a continuous problem. I recon the A bunch are quicker than the Cat 4 people. I rode B today and we also had a smell of brakes. Just after the start (3.5km) a guy or two went down but the one guy probably got really hurt, his bike landed in front of me and I just managed to miss it.
  8. Option 1 & 4
  9. I have one word for you which will solve your problem. INTERVALS Do a proper interval session once a week and you'll see how fast you become. @1hill No wonder you a bloody mountain goat & love SBR.
  10. Obviously isn't selling as they'd hoped. When Dis Chem first got it the guy tried to sell it to me but I never bought it. Like most supplements, its great while you on them but when you come off them its not so great. But for R259.00 I might give it a go, now to find a Dis Chem which still has stock....
  11. Do my best never to stop but on the odd occasion I have stopped as I had run out of fluids. Last year at the Satelite Classic I was part of a small bunch (about 5 of us) as we got to a water point the others decided to stop and I continued. I figured that I would never see them again but I was wrong, they came past me and I could keep up with them. Then again that was a terrible race for me. I doubt any of the racing snakes stop but I think majority of the social riders really enjoy the watering points.
  12. Have entered this race 3 times and yesterday was the 1st time I've done it. Really enjoyed it. Parking was a nightmare but I found a parking just outside the entrance then cycled & walked. Go into the pen with 30sec to go. The Marshall's were great and BIG up to all the people manning the water points. Lost my computer 65km into the race. Managed a 2:46 and finished with the bunch, very happy with that. Will be back next year.
  13. Aren't you part of the Engen group ?
  14. Know somebody who brought a bike in, it was unassembled and they only paid VAT. Also know of a lady who brought a bike in and she paid ZERO but she does have a foreign passport.
  15. You should seriously think of getting a MTB if you want to bunny hop & go down stairs, etc. It's a mortal sin to treat Eurus wheels like that.
  16. I had the same experience last year on a ad I placed on Gumtree. The guy also wanted a bike for his son, I asked how old his son was & he said he was 12 so I told him the bike would be too big, he said that it didn't matter. Also asked if I could drop the bike off but not to worry he'd do the deposit first. Then the final joke was him asking me sms him my banking details & the amount of the bike. I still have the bike
  17. Applied last Thursday & got mine today. I agree, much easier than last year. Now please email me my race number !!!!
  18. Great. What's wrong with the SL wheels ?
  19. That's a seriously long stem. Didn't they have bigger frames ?
  20. i'm sure GW will make sure the complete route is rideable, they normally do a very good job
  21. I agree, get lots of sleep.
  22. @Spinnekop You obviously haven't convinced CSA to email us a number which we can printer and pin onto our tops. I'm starting to think that you might be good friends with the CL people ??
  23. Had a Solis Nitro for a few months and I was impressed. My son now rides it and neither of us had any problems. I'd be surprised if you get the complete bike to weigh under 8kg.
  24. I take it that this is the same store that forces one to go there to collect race numbers ??
