  1. To get the helicoil won't be an issue. I also have the kit if needed
  2. If you're in Gauteng I will be able to help in getting it sorted. My guess is that the BB is too long and will be quite simple to swop and bring into alignment. Those square tapered BBs are very cheap.
  3. Please ignore stupid or obvious comments and use the better ones 1) Are you using a NW ring? This may explain why it drops (can be a stupid comment) 2) Is the chain the correct length (again, this can be idiotic) 3) As per NC you can use the middle or outer ring position but if the chain drops then moving the ring won't help much, you'll still get some grinding closer to the top. 4) Are the crank arms straight or do they have a natural bend in the arms around the middle. If straight you won't have much to play with in point 5 5) What's the width of the BB you have installed? You will notice that the BB is most likely a 118 or longer to accommodate the 3x. It is possible for you to get a shorter BB which will eliminate the issue. But, you may need to play with some options or post some kiekies and I can assist. If all else fails it is time to get a new bike
  4. The platform is getting soooooo annoying lately, it is extremely buggy and the latest addition to my frustration is that I can't reply to any messages to ads either on the phone nor the laptop. Here's a screen recording of what's happening. Same on the laptop. I get an email notifying me of a new chat I open the email and click on the reply button It opens the Hub and shows the history of all my chats and then doesn't allow me to open the chat which I originally wanted to reply to. I use Brave browser on the phone and Chrome on the laptop Screen_Recording_20231027_080536_Brave.mp4
  5. Here's my prediction: 1) OP requests opinion on aspect with very little additional information 2) Everyone provides feedback with the very little information provided and ask for clarity on some elements 3) The larger BH community gets into heated discussions regarding opinions and answers given 4) OP dissappears and leaves everyone wondering about the outcome Is it Friday yet?
  6. It's only a "steal" if you're the end user. If you bought them to sell on again then not so much
  7. Hey there, Unless they changed it (I don't think they have). Then no, the weekly goal increases and decreases to stay in line with the amount of training you do or don't do. The limit if memory serves is 1200 & the more you train the closer it gets to the max. If you then get injured or take a break the limit decreases to allow you to reach the goal faster and this then encourages you to train more often . Just imagine how deflating it will be if you come back after a break and you have to klap 1200 points to reach your goal
  8. Light bulb moment : https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/dual-suspension-bikes/676744/looking-for-yeti-45-swing-arm
  9. I know I am flogging a dead horse etc etc but this is where comments on the classifieds comes in quite handy, I mean just imagine you purchase one of these frames and you take it to your lbs only to discover that you still have to fork out another 15-20k to make it rideable . I can also guarantee that the seller will not refund and will claim that it is visible in the kiekies that the frame was incomplete.
  10. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/profile/165711-marinuspb - these Yeti frames looks familiar 😁
  11. Underneath all the insulation tape it appears to me like you've got a 2012 GT . But then again, I am seldom right when it comes to guessing the year . My questions: 1) What do you want to spend 2) What do you want to do with the bike, it is not worth investing in a bike that does not fit your riding purpose. 3) What size?
  12. I will gift him a new set of hydraulic along with a shifter, send me a dm
  13. Does anyone have a box full or even just one of these? I find it very weird that I ran out of them . No need for the screws and spacers
  14. It was bottle cages that sold for 14100 but there was a hand written value of 484 on the box but the printed value on the side showed 48 .
  15. The best light for night riding is the sun, o wait, the sun is missing during the night . So this post is not to bad mouth any product or say which one is better, this post is solely to answer the original question: The wider the beam the better, trust me, you don't want a spotlight when doing 35km/h. I bought a cheap Chinese light in 2013 which I still have. That thing lights up everything at 1800 lumens where as I've bought others over the years that were way more expensive and were supposedly way better that had to be replaced multiple times and were rubbish in the lighting department. More expensive isn't always better
  16. I just hope that the written number shown on the box of Lot 184 was in fact the quantity and not the printed value shown in the picture. That is a big difference
  17. There's another thread "I may need something you..." can't recall the heading. But ya, someone will be all to happy to take it off your hands. I may even be keen but I am in PTA
  18. To me it is price, I mean I saw yesterday: R119 per bearing. This is fine if you're going to buy one or two but this soon becomes very expensive if you buy 20-50 of each (I took my N+1 too far)
  19. Reviving an oldish thread. Question: Tapered headset bearings, the top and bottom, is there a local supplier that stock them other than the LBS? I have been in contact with SKF who claim that they can't help me. They say I need to visit them with the bearings for confirmation, so who knows who I can use
  20. So this is my opinion, there's going to be lots of other points and or view points but it all depends on what you want to spend and or whether you are looking at keeping up with the Jones' Budget option Get a wide range 10 speed cassette and change the front with a NW ring (oval works quite well) Mid-range option Loose the 10 speed completely and go with an 11 speed. This will mean, new chain, cassette, NW ring, rear mech and shifter Expensive option Swop the 10 speed for 12 speed and this will be exactly the same as the mid range but you will have one more gear . Sales pitch: I have everything mentioned above and can even fit it for you or teach you how to do it
  21. Microspline and XD ties you to a brand. If you keep HG you can go with either brand as you see fit. I don't like corporates trying to keep me loyal to their brand so I guess that is why I won't go with either 😁
