It's called muscle memory dude! You get people that did a lot of riding/racing in the past and they are still strong even after little training. For example, I did a race recently with Kosie Loubser and I know he hasnt done any or very little training this year and he was very strong. I reckon he will pick up very quickly again after a bit of training .

Respectfully, I don't think that should be the focus here. We all love our country (I hope,) so we should all be happy that our national teams are doing well, and also to understand that even though you may not like or agree with things in some sports, you can respect that lots of other people do. Yup, I was just a bit confused with colonel's point of view about why he doesn't like to follow rugby or cricket whilst the same stigma (if not 100 times worse) surrounds cycling (unless he hates cycling?)
