  15. I'm a dental tech, so we polish scratches off loads of dentures and polish things up all the time. Theres a stainless steel polish we use which u can get at a hardware store. Also it helps if you have a hand held micromotor kind of thing that you get, or a polishing lathe. But first we use pumice and a bristle brush, but you have to keep the speed slow and the pumice wet or you will burn the composite. Then use a bristle brush and the steel polish and then finally the brasso/silvo and the polishing cloth to give the final shine. Fine sandpaper, then fine wet sandpaper, and fianlly brasso should work but it's loads of manual labour. Good luck.
  16. Yeah, have you noticed that poeple...(not incorrect spelling in this case) tend to do things they are not suppposed to simply because they cant give a damn. That's why the country is in such a state. Good post Muddy...if we all pay attention to the regulations, then everyone will be better off..It starts with us as they say.
  17. hey. may be able to join you some times. How often do you go. Cant do this coming week as i am on duty but chat about it next week.
  18. oooh i might join you sometime. I'll patch in for your updates!
  19. Thanx Mecnic. That's exactly what i wanted to know!!!
  20. Ok someone explain to me the difference between the 3??? I only recently discovered what a BB30 was.
  21. I'm running Schwalbe Alberts on front and xmark at the rear. I like the grip in the corners and in gravel although it's a slightly heavier tyre.
  22. I was a PTA boy many years ago and had most of my friends in JHB, then relocated to London, then moved down to Cape Town. I only miss my friends and things like availability of shows and nightlife, but i'm far more relaxed and happier now than i ever was up there. Salary wise, it depends on what profession you are in and how hard you want to work. I stopped working the 16 hour days and only work about 6 hours a day now, but cant complain about the pay cos i'm in the dental field. I love the outdoors here, and if u make friends here, then you have everything u need, including lots of time to do the things you want. Just one word of caution...there are loads of wierdos in CT. Choose your friends carefully. Oh and you will end up in the pool naked with Capetonians.. or is that just me and my friends???
  23. I will see you Thursday 4pm at the forest. Heidi wont make it but still waiting for Clova's reply.
  24. may join you with another 1 or 2 girl friends. Just wont be able to make it all the time but quite keen. May join you this Thursday if you starting since the weathers going to be good.
  25. i had the same problem, but also had a strange clicking every stroke. Greased the rear swingarm pivots, the BB bearings, the crankarm bolts, the pedals, and the seatpost and clamp, the shock swingarm and still clicking and squeaking. Thought my carbon frame was cracked. Then on a ride i moved the seatrails forward. Creaking stopped....but check your frame regularly. The clicking was from my drivechain. Had chainsuck during a race and the clicking was ever since then. So changed the chain and it worked for a ride, then clicking again. So turned the bike upside down and carefully watched the chain..It jumped at the area it clicked because it was damaged at that point from my middle crank ring being damaged during the chainsuck. So changed the chainring, and the chain again and presto...problem solved....at last. Guess it's just trail and error.
