  1. Here's a thought... Places like CRC force LBS to adapt to the market. In every industry, the market changes, so too with the bicycle industry. They are forced to become more of a bike servicing and building shop rather than a selling shop. The more people buyyy from CRC, the more the market becomes flooded wityh parts, the more people can afford bikes, the more need for servicing and upgrading, the more need for people with bike expertise, the better for the industry. The more bicycles on the road or in recreation, the more greener everything is, the safer poeple will be forced to drive...
  2. RIP Andrew. Just remember guys that CPR courses need to be done every 3 years as protocols change. eg.2 breaths and 30 compressions nowadays.
  3. Dont try to do stuff too quick. The bones need to set correctly. If there is micromovement , you risk the area becoming microporous in the bone growth. This actually weakens the bones and can be a cause of implant failure. It also doesnt allow the surrounding tissue to build, which can result in bone loss. Also remember Titanium is not biointegratable but biocompatible, so if you leave the implant in teh surrounding tissue never integrates completely onto the implant and you'll always have slight discomfort when the tissue slides over the implant. I took loads of calcium magneium mineral salts to help heal the bone. Of course your body can only assimilate so much of the stuff and the rest goes to waste, but rather have that supplementation that not. And it's not an expensive supplememnt. You should be able to pick it up at any Diskem, or one of the larger supermarket chains which have a pharmacy instore.
  4. Thanx guys. will let u know how it goes..So much info into the small brain.
  5. Using Nobby Nics up front and Rocket ron out back. Also running them tubeless converted. Prefer them to the Maxxis tyres. WAs running Crossmarks up front and Larrsen at the back. They're really cheap if u buy from Visagie.
  6. hmmm good one. will check tommorrow.
  7. oh, also there is a little screw on the back of the RD which presses onto the frame. How much should i scrwew this in?
  8. i Have 2 friends whose XT RDs wont shift smoothly till the smallest cogs on the cassette.....Rear derailleur spring problem?? or cassette and chain problem? I tighten up or loosen the cable, it works for a while, but then goes out again when i test the bike. HELP!!!
  9. Yep, and why do some idiots on motorbikes think that speeding and overtaking on solid lines is ok??? Helped on the scene of an MVA with a motorcycle that caught fire after hitting a car coming out of a driveway. The motorist didnt see the biker he was coming so fast. He hit the car so fast his helmet went flying. Felt sorry for the motorist..sorry but no feelings for the biker.
  10. Someoone taught Johan something???
  11. And the stuff that doesnt break gets stolen by some enterprising, young South African. They stole the black fog light covers from my car the other night...
  12. That's wierd...because i've worked with some of the quality controllers from China before, and their standards are incredibly high compared to some of the South African standards and work ethic! Remember things are made to fail after a certain time these days..how else would all the big companies keep prices lower and get you to buy more stuff. It's called free enterprise and you fall for it all the time buying your brand name stuff. All it is , is good marketing and money to back it up.
  13. Crosswind?? What about driving in general- that causes some serious wind force.
  14. Any bike stuff out of Indonesia is usually a SCAM. Loads of people have been scammed using Alibaba.com when trying to find reliable international distributers. I know..i'm one of the suckers. Luckily my fingers weren't badly burnt because my bank warned me, but curiosity got the better of me. Also be wary of India, and all the Philipino countries and some of the Chinese dealers. It's difficult to source actual products unless you go there yourself.
  15. er...HIJACK!! While we're on the subject, i have a brand new, never fitted pair of Shimano Deore brakes with adapters and rotors for R1300. Anybody want em??? Sorry hijack off.
  16. Lets put it this way... She has the opportunity to be in a music video be watched by thousands of people, adored by loads.... every woman's secret wish.....and YOU are thinking of denying her that ???? If you feel secure in your relationship, then it'll probably strengthen it. If you arent then you're going to lose her anyway. Give her the freedom to make her own choice and she'll remember you for it. Just let her know that you support her. Geez..i like my own advice!!

    crc order

probably not... needs to go through customs first. Go to the post office website, get their toll free number, phione and get your local tracking number from the international one and maybe you'll be able to pick it up before they give u notification... Good luck!!
  18. Aaah Vitoria...did my first martial arts competition theer and met a beautiful Spanish woman...Brings back great memories!!!!!
  19. And so are many of the bikes made in Europe...designed in Europe, manufactured in China or Taiwan, frame is sent back and the parts assembled in Europe...presto European brand bike...but of course that's just hearsay.
  20. That's Douglas Gleen you Plick!!!
  21. Yep, I'm local Chinese. We got on very well with the Taiwanese until the SA government backstabbed them for a more profitable longterm relationship with the Chinese government. The Taiwanese did loads for the local population. Taiwanese consider themselves Chinese!!! and so do we locals born in South Africa.
  22. Hate to break this to you, but most of the bike brands are made in China or Taiwan. And Taiwanese are Chinese too. Goes back to the days of Sun yat sen!! You just have to choose your quality standards better when buying something.
  23. I'm a CTonian but ride when i get up ther. Groenies and Van Gaarlens are my favorites.
  24. +1!! I used 1.3s for my only Argus to date and was suprised at how ewell they hold the road.
  25. I agree that it makes sense to keep left on wider jeep roads to let oncoming cyclists kep to their left as you do in traffic...makes sense. I also think that if you are riding up singletrack, although you may have right of way, a guy coming down at speed is not going to be able to stop so easily, so use your common sense and judgement. I also think that most guys that ride Tokai are friendly, and greet or just let faster riders pass. Course as with anything in life, you always get the A&$#H0!#$ that want to stuff it up for everyone.Same as driving!!!!
