Yep, I'm local Chinese. We got on very well with the Taiwanese until the SA government backstabbed them for a more profitable longterm relationship with the Chinese government. The Taiwanese did loads for the local population. Taiwanese consider themselves Chinese!!! and so do we locals born in South Africa.

Hate to break this to you, but most of the bike brands are made in China or Taiwan. And Taiwanese are Chinese too. Goes back to the days of Sun yat sen!! You just have to choose your quality standards better when buying something.

I'm a CTonian but ride when i get up ther. Groenies and Van Gaarlens are my favorites.

+1!! I used 1.3s for my only Argus to date and was suprised at how ewell they hold the road.

I agree that it makes sense to keep left on wider jeep roads to let oncoming cyclists kep to their left as you do in traffic...makes sense. I also think that if you are riding up singletrack, although you may have right of way, a guy coming down at speed is not going to be able to stop so easily, so use your common sense and judgement. I also think that most guys that ride Tokai are friendly, and greet or just let faster riders pass. Course as with anything in life, you always get the A&$#H0!#$ that want to stuff it up for everyone.Same as driving!!!!

er what's a SIR and a MCR for those of us who know nothing about 29ers???

hey. I only know of the Upper, middle and lower Canary, andother downhill just done recently and the Taeda,. The rest burnt away. WHere is the QUARRY??? and the blockhouse since i've never been there but it sounds good.

Hey, Why cant i find MTB slicks for a 29er on CRC? Do they even make them? Thinking of building a 29er but then will also be doing Argus on it, so want to know if MTB slicks are available for this or do i need to sukkel??

Hey guys. Just wondering if you swop from a 26 frame to a 29er if the size of frame you take changes at all.?? ie if i ride a medium 18" normal frame, what size 29er frame should i take???

And none of those guys are probably on the hub.....let the cycling clubs know..After all it's them that get the bad name!!

Hey Rad, That used to happen to me frequently in the UK. Lost seats, wheels etsc. Sucks when you suddenly have to walk home 5kms in the snow. That's why i'm back here despite all the problems. Solution is to take your seat and post with you.

it's all about marketing guys. All things are advertized to be better than their competitors. We weont buy something that is cheaper because it's not a known brand and re unwilling to test it in case we are wrong. Look at cycling companies..Many of them started off small, but with good marketing people bought their stuff. Look at some of the guys on the hub, selling cheap stuff which may be just as good as branded stuff.Everyone is reluctant to buy because there is no brand name on it, so even though they say it has a warrenty,do you really believe them?? Remember that technology trickles down everywhere. So go and support your local hubbers with their cheaper imports.

Hey er sounds like something went wrong. Your parcel should usually go form Belfast straight to South Africa. If it went to Soao Paolo, then it went to the wrong place. Contact CRC and make sure the delivery address is right. If they have sent it soemwhere else or got your order mixed up, they will take the time to fix it. =0

Yeah Slogger ..it is one of those unbranded frames i got from Taiwan. THANX to Tyrone for his brilliant work!!! Crow...ha ha..i have pedals. gonna bring the weight up to just under 11kgs. May put the sid on, but havent decided yet.
