Thank you everyone for your help. We are going to test a bit in a freinds workshop before we buy anything. I have hundreds of seed heads so we will see what is most efficient. Will report back!
Hello everyone. I am by no means a wood work fundi. I would like to ask what sander/machinery do I need to make these? I have many protea seed heads after cleaning off seeds. They need to be sanded on the upper and lower surfaces to thin them out and also to shape around the edges. They are about 6cm wide. I would appreciate any advice before I buy. Thank you so much
A few weeks ago on holiday in EC.
Join the burg wheelers cycle club. They have so many different groups with different ages and strengths. Road and mtb. They are based in pmb. You will also learn the local routes around Pmb, Hilton and Karkloof. There are many kind folk who can help with questions and technical stuff
How much climbing is the entire route? Do you have boxes at the Support stations like 360ne do? Just asking.....?
Almost go time! ! 🥳
This thread is so lekker......had a jol with my son when he was smaller. I need somebody to point me to the next thread we should graduate to after this......the " my son is now kicking my ass on a bike" support thread 😞

I did a bike trip recently and got such bad sunburn on my lips it hurt so much I could not sleep at night. Used some samples of ass magic I found , worked like a bomb.
I think you can call your repair cream.."kiss my ass"

If it's a niggle for you it's not going to go away until you give it a scratch. I also hate the cold.
Shebeen are you doing it?

Had a long (lovely) day on the bike and got caught in the rain just after last WP, just added to the experience of making it a memorable ride.
At least the wind was kinder than last year, the tailwind on the uphill's helped.
This remains an awesome event.
Shout out to everyone that finished - the top finishers, much respect going at that pace for the entire race.
Until next year????
I think we might have been together a little bit. The rain got me on that long district road drag just before the tar. I was riding in black but my freind was in black and yellow.

Great ride
Thanks so much vettie.
I rode from cradock to willowmore on the freedom trail just before the race and had a bad crash when my crank broke off my bike. Hurt my knee and battled with it daily. Just before 360one we were able to rest for two days. So going into the race I felt pretty rough. The race was hard and my freind and I stuck together. The night was long and those last few hills horrible. I got caught in the rain in the last hour. My knee at this stage was unbearable but we pushed through. I'm so glad I did not give up but there were times when my mind went walkabout to dark places. The cheerful folks at the watertables and the medics we joked with at the feed stations were great.
