  1. Droo the thing is that most cyclist just don't use it enough to justify the cost over a cheaper Magiclight that basically does the same thing. I would gladly drop 5k on a top of the line lighting rig if I knew I would get enough actual usage from it that would make up the costs ie. 24hour events, adventure racing. My 2c anyway
  2. Time aside, let someone pass who can ride a section faster than you, so we can all enjoy the majority of the course as intended. That said their is no reason for the passer/passee (is there such a word ?) to be a boks about the situation, some people can get really worked up and do some dangerous overtaking sometimes. Think I might just get a bell
  3. If he went gat oor kop by the ladder it would be a laugh
  4. Thanks for the update
  5. Hey Jacques I study in Randburg in the week and saturdays and would be keen to ride. Depends on the time of day though, when would you want to ride ? I do both road and mtb Leme know. Luan.
  6. Olympic mtb shoes and basic shimano pedals Tubeless conversion Bike service voucher co2 inflation kit and tyre plug kit Magiclight Magneto jacket,Arm and leg warmers for early am rides Proper footpump, Dárcs glass kit if he doesnt have
  7. Think I'll get my popcorn so long...
  8. Would love one for xmas, have an Edge but need something to run with and the odd swim and triathlon
  9. That's great that's why I said I believe it works. Some may disagree. Like most here love 32GI , I can't stomach it.
  10. Here's an idea, how about us hubbers build up a loan bike that can travel between needy parties ? Instead of building a bike for X person which is kinda like giving a fish to someone but not learning them how to catch their own kinda thing... Would it work ? What do you think ?
  11. Also wondering, Phillip has huge potential if he is allowed to focus on XCO only. Mannie rode past us today when we came back from Groenkloof. On the mtb with 2 ladies on roadbikes, not unfit that's for sure.
  12. I believe in compression so maybe try some compression leggings if you don't think it's bollocks. But 3 weeks is allot of time to recover IMO, though maybe not enough to train again but you shouldnt loose form
  13. Buy Mannie's bike, he's fast so it must be as well
  14. Maybe invest in a bike lock for the office
  15. Good advice here. Just like the 3 pack you can get at the pharmacy, it saves you from allot of costs and frustration in the long term Prevention is better than....
  16. I'm too lazy to shave, just use a Phillips body groom to trim the leg hair short
  17. And running cadence
  18. My best advice is to go look on DCrainmaker.com as he is a sport gadget tester and has allot of info/reviews on these systems. Triathlete sa also has an article on it in the issue with Ray Tissink on it. Think Ride and Bicycling have also run articles. Google a bit and search this site. Sure the guys here will be able to give more hands on info. Oh and there is a book on training/racing with power, like the bible for it. Get that, no use having data but not knowing what to make of it.
  19. Maybe Santa will bring me one
  20. Soos meeste gan voorstel, koop tools aan soos nodig, koop die parktool boek, doen dit self. Ek het al moerse duur betaal vir privaat mechanics en was steeds nie happy nie...
  21. Hey all Searched but found nothing so asking here. Looking to buy my first pair of proper road pedals as I train quite a bit on the road bike and got some nice road shoes on the hub. Looked at the brands but don't know enough, the Shimano 105 in black looks like a winner as it matches the Felt's colours and group, is under R600 and is metal. I'm worried about the longevity of the composite pedals. Also I need something with generous float as I'm used to eggbeaters and also have hurt my right knee before, is the float on the 105 enough ? I see one can get different cleats for that. Standard float on the 105 is 6 degrees like with the eggies ? I'm now running CB Quotro cleats on my road shoes with candy pedals but they tend to slip when trying to clip in so I want to get a proper setup. The slipping is going to cause a crash or something one day and besides if I'm gonna ride a road bike I might as well look the part Thanks WW.
  22. I like the subdued look of the carbon bikes, less logos for the win !
  23. Ooh I love Garmin gadgets Been looking for something like this as using my Edge for running is not ideal and doing the occasional tri means this is perfect Time to start saving then. Love his reviews as well, gonna take up the rest of my afternoon to read it
  24. Would compact crankset not be better suited to someone just starting out on a road bike ? I have one on mine (50/34 with 11-25 cassette) and it's still tuff as you can't spin up some hills like with an mtb, would really sukkel on a normal crankset.
