    23c VS 25c

I thought that the latest and greatest revelation was that wider tyres rolled better ? See here I used 25mm tyres for a season. If I could find them, I would use them again. A bit more air volume = a bit more comfort (I weigh 100kg)
  2. Your Ergofit says that you need a frame with a top tube of 590mm and a stem of 100mm. The Med Cannondale has a top tube of 593mm - so you are just about spot on.
  3. Quite a few punctures apparently
  4. Upwards of R70k ?
  5. You are right. Burry's pimped one is 9.46kg.
  6. Have you re registered on the new website? www.sa-active.com I wasnt coming right, so I phoned them and a very helpful lady told me that I had to re register and enter all my details on the new website. I didnt have to pay anything this year. I have entered 2 races this year - just waiting for them to be processed.

    Momsen SL929

SL929 arrives in April -- it will be available as Complete or Frame-Kit ( frame/fork/headset/seatclamp ). We are taking pre-orders from dealers now. Regards, Victor
  8. What about other brands like Vermarc, Castelli etc?

    2 x 10 vs 3 x 10

If you use your granny gear (22/34) a lot, you might struggle with a 2x10 - especially on a 29'er. (I know that I am not 2x10 material) There have been a few threads on 2x10 and gearing. Have a look at some gear development tables and understand the ratios. Compare the gears you use now to the gearing you might have on a 29'er.

    Momsen SL929

Sorry, I meant the carbon 29'ers. I know the other one has been around for a while. Great value for money.
  11. That is quite a piece of work! (I would hate to know what something like that might cost...)
  12. That's weird, I bought a booklet last week!

    Momsen SL929

Are the Momsen's available yet? It looks really nice!
  14. Are they the same age and price etc? What about size? Be sure you get fitted properly. They both seem like custom builds. Carbon frame with medium level spec vs alu frame with high end spec. Left vs Fox fork (Do some research on the lefty fork - some mixed reviews out there.) What wheels are on each bike? A few things to consider over and above brand. edit: Sorry, I assumed you were talking about the 29 carbon flash (I dont know why). The Giant is an XT/SLX build for about R16k - pretty good value and plenty of scope to upgrade. The Geometry is quite different on each, so factor that into your decision. Perhaps get measured and sized up properly. Cannondale site Giant site

  17. It's just that the Spanish seem a little biased...
  18. Cute pic. My little boy usually finds the biggest tool and starts hitting things on my bike. Not so cute...
  19. My old IR device didn't work, so I got the Polar dongle (the black one) and that works fine. I battled with the Polar software though - and cant run any software updates. Not serious, I suppose.
  20. Ah yes, just saw this now: "I can't give a personal opinion until the whole affair is finished and it's not finished yet," McQuaid told media. "We got 35 pages from the Spanish Federation yesterday, which has to be translated and studied, and then we'll discuss it with WADA. We'll wait for the full documentation from the Spanish Federation and then we've got 30 days to decide whether we appeal or not. It's a UCI decision." From Cyclingnews.com
  21. Where is the comment from UCI or WADA? Will there be an objection, or is this the last word on the matter? Am I being impatient?
  22. Have a look at this: Holdfast Sprint (LINK)
  23. Have you test ridden any of them? Have you been measured up properly? Perhaps the geometry of the one bike might suit your better than the other two. Correct fit is more important than colour or spec etc. (I.M.H.O.)
  24. So much of nice!
