  1. His team is gonna fly him home on the G6
  2. Doesn't look great. I hope he starts today MVDP also took a body shot from the bottle
  3. And a nice follow up too
  4. Did you see the date that was posted ? But this one is real: http://pardo.net/bike/pic/mobi/d.pmp-cranks/
  5. Top Notch! I got a long and very detailed phone call in response a query earlier this week, with a follow-up email. 😎
  6. Cape Coffee Beans (in Cape Town) sorted it out for me as they are agents/resellers of Rancilio. I don't know who did the actual work though.
  7. I sent my Silvia in for a service last week (WAY overdue) and took the opportunity to pimp it with a pre-infuser PID. It runs so much smoother after the service and I love the automation and consistency that the PID brings. Now to get my milk game on point...
  8. I see that hey have come down in price. For almost the same money, the Bontrager has 1300 lumens. But perhaps it isn't quite as clever as the Garmin light. (I have the Bontrager under my Garmin 530. Neat and compact)
  9. I see that there is a new range of Switch gravel bikes being cooked up too. Looking forward to those
  10. Isn't that Gandalf Corner ?
  11. We skipped Day 6 because of the rain (and we were tired and we had our fines meeting). Day 7 was from Greyton to Boschendal over Franschhoek Pass, which was stunning.
  12. Day 5 was from Riversdale to Swellendam
  13. Day 4 was from the other side of Calitzdorp to Riversdale (approx. 140km). Rooiberg Pass was quite something, Especially the descent on a gravel bike. Garcia's Pass was a fun way to end a big day out.
  14. Day 3 was from Oudtshoorn to nowhere near Calitzdorp
  15. Day 2: George to Oudtshoorn (Montagu Pass was a highlight)
  16. I did a few days of the Cross Cape Route last week with some mates. Day 1: Knysna to George
  17. So far, I don't think that I have seen an objection to paying for reasonable quality. And I think that everyone understand that things cost money. Especially nice things. If Burger King or the Hardware Store gave out their reasonably good (sponsored) products for years for us to use and enjoy at not charge, and then suddenly started charging for an inferior product, surely we would object by not paying and therefore not making use of it any more. If there was a better product across the road at a similar price, we could then choose whether we still needed that product and if it was worth paying for. Isn't that how it worked back in the days of magazines and newspapers? There were lots to choose from at different price points. One took a free copy of "The Metro' on the tube in London, but you still bought a 'proper' newspaper of your choice to get the actual news.
  18. I feel the same Cyclingnews has been a daily visit for many years, but not worth paying for going forward. I will also consider paying for Cyclingtips. Their content is fantastic. But paying dollars/Euros can get heavy, so need to limit that because I am also considering GCN+ due to lack of DSTV. I think that Steephill has already closed, which is a great pity. 19. I always thought that these kinds of websites were paid for by all the advertising.
  20. The really is beautiful Congratulations! And well done to Matthew too. From humble beginnings to a big name in the cycling world.
  21. So, on the topic of gearing... Anyone running a 11-40 cassette with a 2x11 GRX setup (with a Shimano stated max of 34 teeth on the rear) Will the rear mech cope ? Do I need a Wolftooth link thingy ?
  22. That is all kinds of gorgeous especially with optional titanium lugs, but the pricing is eye watering. https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/colnago-goes-direct-to-consumer-with-new-euro16780-c68/
  23. I am looking for an 11-40 cassette (11spd) to test on my GRX rear derailleur . Shimano says 34 is max, but other clever people that you can B-Screw the hell out of it and it works! A new one is R 1700 and that's an expensive trial and error process. Cheers
