You need to hit the update button at the bottom of the filter box for the search to update. We will be making the filtering more intuitive in future versions.

The forum box is actually bigger (66% taller and the same width). It is a little further down the page though.

Forums are due a big update once we've finished moving the other parts of the site off of the forum software. We can't update the Forums until Events and Stolen Bikes join the new Classifieds on a separate system. The new Forum software comes with a bundle of improvements and new features, hopefully including the favourite topics feature you've described. The navigation stuff, we're working on it.

Is this happening on the forums or homepage/classifieds or both?

Do you mean the show phone number button? It's there. Although it's not currently showing on adverts imported from the old site unless sellers update their adverts. These will be flushed out in 30 days (from Monday) when the last of the old site adverts expire. Otherwise, it's up to the seller to elect to show it or not.

Which links are you having problems with?

We're trying to help you find more time for riding. That's the social corporate responsibly answer anyway But your dedication is appreciated! Will bookmarking the Active Topics page on your devices do the trick? We're also toying with the idea of moving the Active Topics button from the bottom of the forums box on the Homepage to the top (next to the Discussion heading). That way it shouldn't hide below the fold on desktop (at least).

Whether Chat or PMs shows in the user drop down currently depends on which section of the website you are on. The Classifieds show Chat while the Forums are still on PM. Unfortunately it is going to be a bit of split until we can get the other parts of the site off the ageing forum software (namely Events and Stolen Bikes). This requires a complete re-building of these features. Once that is complete, then we can update the forum software and link everything in a much more seamless way. Chat will get improved over time, including read receipts.

Agreed, it's not ideal. We're on it though, a fix is in the pipeline.
