  1. How else do you expect me to do a track walk?
  2. Perhaps worth reposting a link to this article A scientific guide to race day nutrition.
  3. To be honest, I haven't spent too many hours on 2.6" tyres. So it may be a case of not knowing what I'm missing but I found the 2.3" well suited to the Stellenbosch trails. I also spend lots of time on XC bikes with a similar width tyre, so it's a size that I'm comfortable with. So ya, you'd probably prefer the bike with 2.6". I reckon the tyre choice had a lot to do with weight saving considerations and differentiating it further from the standard Levo. Weight and friction play a role in efficiency too (but I couldn't even start to guess to what degree). Also, you've taught me something, I didn't know that they make 2.6" Ground Control tyres. Sort of on topic, one thing that I didn't mention is the new Trail GRID casing. It extends the GRID casing from the sidewalls over to the top of the tyre (underneath the tread).
  4. It's easy enough to bemoan progression and the hype that comes with it but I tend to not do it lightly. The Levo SL blurs the lines between regular bikes and e-bikes in the trail riding category. It will have regular trail bike owners considering an e-bike for the first time. In fact, I reckon anyone who can afford a bike like this will have more fun with it than a regular trail bike. It is the first e-bike to make me think this way, so in that sense, it has the potential to change the game completely.
  5. There are probably 250 people who'd buy that sales pitch Alan was at the launch. His World Champion jersey looks electric...
  6. They were aiming for real bike handling. The look just comes with everything being smaller. I view this bike as a replacement to the real bike instead of competing against other e-bikes. I reckon the Levo SL will dig into top spec Stumpy sales the most.
  7. Happy! A sample of one but I've been riding mine since March 2017. Still going strong even after many many hours of riding including a health dose of mud each winter. Recently, I've been hoping it'd give up so I can justify getting one of the new longer travel versions but it's not obliging.
  8. Yes. The Stage is still being made in the East but the Mobu is made by a local company.
  9. Carbon. Made in South Africa.
  10. I haven't gotten further than poking my head out the door but it sounds fairly atrocious out there for bike riding. Back to bed

  12. I don't get the angst about other people getting the angst.
  13. There will always be wind heading into Franschhoek, always. But that's only 15kms worth. I reckon that's where the group will catch me again after my audacious breakaway on Helshoogte
  14. One more to add... Username: Rowan Ackerman Phone number: 0640143109 Email: craiglottering.za@gmail.com
  15. DarkFEST 2020 is set to run from the 3rd to the 8th of February at Vuurberg Farm, Stellenbosch.
  16. We're looking at making SHIFT + ENTER create a new line? Is this common usage? It's how WhatsApp Web and some other chat products work on desktop.
  17. It's currently missing from the Homepage menu. You will see it once you enter the Forum section. We're working on a combined menu that will include Forum links on the Homepage and Classifieds sections. It should be out early next week.
  18. In the user menu, click your avatar in the top right. Is that what you're looking for?
  19. You need to hit the update button at the bottom of the filter box for the search to update. We will be making the filtering more intuitive in future versions.
  20. We're running a promo article with some more information here: https://community.bikehub.co.za/features/_/sponsored/merida-big-nine-bikes-are-at-makro-this-festive-season-r8026
  21. Great photo!
  22. The forum box is actually bigger (66% taller and the same width). It is a little further down the page though.
  23. Forums are due a big update once we've finished moving the other parts of the site off of the forum software. We can't update the Forums until Events and Stolen Bikes join the new Classifieds on a separate system. The new Forum software comes with a bundle of improvements and new features, hopefully including the favourite topics feature you've described. The navigation stuff, we're working on it.
  24. Is this happening on the forums or homepage/classifieds or both?
  25. Do you mean the show phone number button? It's there. Although it's not currently showing on adverts imported from the old site unless sellers update their adverts. These will be flushed out in 30 days (from Monday) when the last of the old site adverts expire. Otherwise, it's up to the seller to elect to show it or not.
