  1. I'll be around if you'd like someone to pass you a bottle during the race.
  2. Sounds like a good model. Canyon South Africa are pushing for an inclusive single price and apparently, it is in the works with Canyon international.
  3. The Blue Route is open again after the fire. https://facebook.com/BottelaryHillsConservancyMTB/posts/2095490930496963
  4. The women are currently racing the Koksijde World Cup with the men starting at 4pm. SuperSport 5 for those with access.

  6. The organisers were pretty clear on their focus going in. "In 2018 the elite women will compete in the Chardonnay event, which takes place from the 26th to the 28th of October, without any elite men or competitive Mixed category athletes on the start line. This means they will have the sole attention of the media and race entirely without interference." https://www.bikehub.co.za/features/_/news/mtb/sa-mtb/first-dedicated-elite-womens-wines2whales-race-boasts-strong-field-r7571

  8. They will be a real thing well before next year's race. And the length will probably not be to Slowbee's liking
  9. Ewald's report is out: https://www.bikehub.co.za/features/_/articles/ride-reports/ewc-round-3-jonkershoek-r7576
  10. Nicholas Potts at the bottom had no chance.
  11. http://www.drugfreesport.org.za/top-sa-mountain-biker-slapped-with-a-4-year-ban/
  12. Does anyone have a link to the story? I can't find it on the SAIDS site. Taken down? I'd prefer not to spread news without a source.
  13. Thanks! We will look into it. Based on our previous investigations though, I'm guessing that you also have a Gumtree advert from which he is obtaining your number.
  14. I was more intrigued by the sourcing of the bikes and deal around it. Year model gives an indication of sorts whether it is dumping of old stock from another market or Makro making a long-term play in the bike market.
  15. Probably not. But all the details would be welcome.
  16. Year models will also be interesting.
  17. Omnico (the authorized SA Cannondale dealers) have asked that we share the following statement from them regarding the Makro deal: "Please be informed the Cannondale Bicycles currently being advertised and sold by Makro stores in South Africa have been imported without the approval or license of Omnico (Pty) Ltd. As such no guarantee or warrantee in respect of such bicycles will be honoured or fulfilled by Omnico (Pty) Ltd. In terms of Section 25 (2) of the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008, Makro are obliged to clearly indicate to the consumer, in all advertising and point of sale, that this is the case. For more information on our range of Cannondale Bicycles please go to www.cannondale.co.za"
  18. So who else took part in this event? I really enjoyed the route (the new sections in the conservancy are fun) and the vibe and even the late start. The newer stuff in the conservancy was a lekker surprise. And then there was the burger at the end
  19. Ewald Sadie's race report is live: https://www.bikehub.co.za/features/_/articles/ride-reports/klipberg-enduro-2018-r7497 Cracking photos!
  20. As suggested, it's all on the event website. Date: 10 March 2019 Training: https://www.capetowncycletour.com/blog/100-km-training-programme/ Route info: https://www.capetowncycletour.com/lifecycle-week/ctct/route-information/
  21. Still on the fence? The Klipberg team sent us this report from their recent route scouting mission: https://www.bikehub.co.za/features/_/news/mtb/sa-mtb/the-klipberg-enduro-pack-your-dingleberrys-r7470
  22. Zwift on Android is very much still in its test phase. You can expect there to be some problems. Zwift is encouraging people with issues to email them at beta@zwift.com
  23. Would this mean that other Zwift races are unsanctioned events? If I fall off my trainer in the sprint, will CSA insurance cover me?
  24. Seems they are rather strict about it too: In order to be eligible to be crowned the Zwift National Champion, you must abide by the following rules: A valid National Cycling Federation race license is required.By having membership to your National Cycling Federation, you are bound by the terms and conditions and the regulations of the Federation including the Code of Conduct, responsible riding policy, Member Protection Policy and Anti Doping Policy.Country eligibility will be based on which National Cycling Federation you have registered with. All potential winners will be requested to show their valid race license to be awarded the National Champion title. This is pretty cool: "The winner will receive the National Champion virtual kit to wear for one year."
