  1. I knew this was coming. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to get the bike near a scale. Would saying that it felt light suffice?
  2. You can get a permit from SANParks - either a year-long activity card or a day pass.
  3. The Bike Hub team is registered and ready to have fun. We'll be in branded kit, so please say "Hi" if you spot one of us. It's always good to put a face to a username.
  4. I really don't think it's a crack. We got very intimate with the bike and didn't notice anything at the time. Another angle, although a line is still clearly visible, I think it's something in the construction rather than a failure. There are similar lines throughout the bike. James is racing this bike on Sunday.
  5. With eTap and the Enve wheels, I believe international retail is $15,000. Not sure what that will translate to locally.
  6. Who knows the new route well? Looks like a lot of straight lines. Is there some fun stuff there?
  7. Both were invited to be part of the sock off.
  8. My orange pair are my go to socks, especially on the road (excellent visibility). They've seen a lot of action. No holes yet *fingers crossed*
  9. Just a heads up for those still sitting on the fence, entries close at midnight tonight.
  10. My understanding is that it's a more of a side project by some of the people at CWC than an in-house brand. If that distinction makes any sense. Longer for me is around three and a half hours plus.
  11. Just wait for our sock article that's coming out later this week
  12. The Bike Hub team got out from behind the computer screens this morning, braved the wind, and did some riding:
  13. The random draw winner of the Camelbak Mule 3L and a signed Volume 1 Trail Daze photobook is nonky. Congratulations!
  14. Apologies to everyone for the late announcement. The hecticness of the holiday season caught up with me. The winner: The final winner of a pair of Maxxis tyres is nathrix ® ©™. Congrats! Thank you everyone for participating in the competition. We really enjoyed all your submissions. We'll be having more competitions soon.
  15. This week's winner is Matt Jacoby. Congratulations! Next Friday is our final draw.
  16. Week three's winner is Marthinus Brink. Congratulations!
  17. We got this brief press release from them: https://www.bikehub.co.za/features/_/news/mtb/sa-mtb/rmb-change-a-life-academy-stars-dig-deep-to-conquer-the-munga-r5917
  18. The winner of the first set if Maxxis tyres is cat-i. Congratulations! We'll get in touch shortly. For everyone else, each week all entries submitted during the full duration of the competition will go into the draw, so you can still win. If you haven't already entered, do it soon!
  19. You can post now. The first winner will be drawn on 1 December. Each week all post will be considered, not just the entries made during the week of the draw.
  20. Roughly 1 in 6085.
  21. Congratulations to Xand Venturas, the winner of the Scott Spark 940. We thank you all for participating in the competition.
  22. If anyone is interested in the Attakwas Extreme Trail, we're running a competition to win entries on Trail Hub here: http://www.trailhub.co.za/c/_/a/articles/competitions/giveaway-win-one-of-two-entries-to-the-attakwas-trail-extreme-r202 A shameless hijack (I know) but there needs to be some sort of tax for allowing this thread to go on for so long
  23. Considering the number of people already claiming the prize as their own, we might have to implement a time share arrangement.
