    Are you calling us fat?
  2. I went to a biokineticist at the sports science institute in newlands. They did a functional assessment - pretty much tested strength and movement wrt running. And some video analysis on a treadmill. I think they do shoe recommendations as well - but they'll give you exercises and stretches to correct your running form which is more important imho.
  3. If you can't pump your tubeless up with a footpump, keep adding a layer of tape to the rim channel until you can. The tire and rim just need a tighter fit.
  4. Luckily I'm forced to get an annual permit to commute through Rhodes and around table mountain to work. So Tokai is on like donkey kong.
  5. Flat pedals and a powertap, I'm impressed! Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  6. Try altra instinct. The only box not ticked is the 4mm drop. I'm so gatvol with my feet I've started cutting my shoes up to get them comfortable. I only get rid of the rigid heel counter (haglunds /achilles bursitis), but Google showed me other folk cutting holes in the toe box for better toe splay, a hacksaw and shoe glue to change drop /stack height. After 6 different pairs of shoes not being what I need, Ima dala what I must. At the moment happy with the altra instinct and superior (minus heel cups). Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  7. What's the fit like?
  8. Did you check whether the lever was snappy with the hose removed? Just asking 'cos I had a similar issue where the lever was slow to return, but with the hose removed the lever action was normal. Swapped the hose over to the other lever and it made that one sluggish. Was just a bad olive/pin, put in a new one and the lever returned to snappiness.
  9. I have an Asym i35 wheelset, you're missing this from your cart.
  10. Check out achilles bursitis. An easy tell is that the heel has less discomfort when you aren't wearing shoes.
  11. Die Burger MTB? Gonna be a tough choice... not.
  12. Hope.
  13. Include zeros.
  14. I've done my fair share of cycle tours, and it's "money spent on cycling activities, be it for one day or any given sunday". So fruit, I guess, to clump them together. I'm totally open to do whatever you want to do with your money. I just think that R500 is just some psychological tipping point for me. Having said that, I'll happily pay R1150 (or whatever it costs this year) to do the origin of trails (2 day stage race). So disregard everything I've said, my opinion is worthless.
  15. 500 bucks is an annual permit to jonkershoek. One cycle around the Peninsula vs ride anytime at jonkers... Value for money right there.
  16. Check the revision d version of the 2014 - present manual. Will link when I'm at my pc. I checked revision E 2014-2017:
  17. The 5 and 15ml was changed in the later versions of the pike service manual to 10ml and 10ml (iirc). I use pm600 on the seals, so far so good.
  18. Where'd you get it from?
  19. I'm biased towards volume and CTL (just based on my own on vs off seasons), so seeing an article supporting that I wouldn't really doubt it much. But you raise valid points. Might not be much value in the pro teams data for us plebs, but if someone could datamine strava or garmin connect. There's been some chatter on golden cheetah about opt in data collection in a future version.
  20. However, the strongest, most reliable correlate of FTP comes in the form of Chronic Training Load - with a near linear relationship between CTL & FTP at least up to a CTL of ~150: CTL of 50 ~= FTP of 3.5w/kg, 100 ~= 4.0, 150 ~=4.5. Edit: not volume, or intensity, but CTL.
  21. These trainers are good for consistency (they'll read the same everytime you use it for the same power), but I'd be hesitant to use it as real world power numbers.
