  1. It's 7am on a Sunday, how many motorists are being inconvenienced?
  2. Non-PPA members start in temp so should only affect temp rankings and the lower groups as far as real results are concerned.
  3. Doesn't need shims, chainline is the same as big-blade.
  4. Overeating after a race, craving for food the whole day and easy carbs satisfy these cravings the best. Sure, its okay to have a cheat meal after a race but to scoff down food the whole day is a bit unnecessary. From my personal experience if I don't eat anything during a hard race I overcompensate and eat junk the whole day.
  5. Eat more during the race to stifle post-race cravings.
  6. Aqua crazy in Pinelands, pm for contact details.
  7. Most slx brakes will have a lazy piston, I know mine do, and unevenly spaced pistons can feel like you have no braking power. It helps to center the pistons when doing the initial setup and periodically. Give your back brakes an eyeball and check that the pistons are evenly spaced. I physically restrain the stronger piston while pumping them out until they end up somewhat even.
  8. I understand how to train with power, but how can vo2max help with training? Or is it just to know what it is now and compare with in the future?
  9. if there are barrel adjusters I'd start with those.

  11. C = small hole T = big hole D = small + big hole As mentioned, C will not lock out, and it's difficult to tell the difference between T and D.
  12. You gonna sleep in a tent?
  13. The most useful suggestion is going to be run 1x10
  14. What does realigned mean?
  15. More inclined towards bicycles being easy targets than a specific target. Don't store your bike in the garage, if possible.
  16. Nobby nic on the rear of my bike lasted 2400km with about 70% of that on tar. The front tire is at about 75% down the middle, but some of the side knobblies are quarter eaten. Running a MKII on the back, hopefully I can get more mileage out of it. It's at 1000km and looks like 10% wear. Just to add something relevant to the topic of discussion, by gut feel (and avg speed) my road bike vs mtb is worth about 5km/h average. Slicks will make you faster on road.
  17. The bb's are not interchangeable.
  18. Why would they say its bent? Is it because you struggle to shift from small to big blade? Or chain-drop even with a clutch rear mech? Both of these are "features" of the s1000 crank + x7 mech. I have trance 29er with the x7 / s1000 combo and experienced both of these issues. Solved with a wolf tooth. Awoooo
  19. They did mention in their event news (by email) that "Please note that road funride numbers will be posted only on request."

    A Sub 3 Argus?

I found 72% of MAP is roughly 95% of 20min power, in my case, and MAP a better performance measure than 20min. MAP being all-out to failure whereas the 20min has always been plagued by pacing issues (start out too hard or too easy). 72% because of a higher anaerobic than aerobic capacity.

    A Sub 3 Argus?

I use MAP to estimate ftp, it was about 295W around argus time.

    A Sub 3 Argus?

Numbers are from the argus, yes. Here's the 1min,5min,etc.

    A Sub 3 Argus?

2.92W/kg avg, 3.33W/kg NP = 2:58 (225 & 257 @77kg) Pretty average power numbers. Seeding and ride tactics on the day make a big difference, as everyone says.
  24. Is syringe in the lever or on the bleed nipple dangerous?
