  1. Yup, plug and play, with a software update on startup if you're unlucky. Then just download apps from Play store as you would do on your android phone, but most would have Netflix, Amazon prime pre-installed. Bonus is you can download redbull tv to stream mtb'ing.
  2. Bought a Wheels MFG bb from CWC. Asked them if they’ll install it as I don’t have the tool. Yeah sure. Drove through with the bike, get there. They don’t have the wrench and can’t do it. Go home, make my own and sorted in 15 min.
  3. Lol, yeah I got my finger caught in the disc rotor whilst trying to align the caliper. It cut straight through my nail, and then some further into the nail bed. All this while saying to myself, now don't be a ****ing idiot and let your finger slip into that spinning rotor.
  4. I usually fix the bike shops' mistakes. Not the other way around, but then again I'm not one of those mechanically challenged folk in the Verimark adverts.
  5. The x-wing is still the best looking bike out there, IMO. Pity they had to change it, but I suppose after ~10 years it's time for something new and fresh. But this new enduro looks a bit meh. I doubt Spez will even bring this new monster truck into the country. Trail bikes have now been replaced by so-called 'downcountry'. These 170 - 180 mm bikes are more park bikes as you say. But I don't like that more and more trail bikes (~140 mm) have now been replaced by what used to be enduro/all-mountain 150 - 160 mm bikes, like the Canyon Spectral, Santa cruz bronson and YT Jeffsy. Everything is getting bigger and burlier. I personally don't want to ride a 14 - 15 kg trail bike. Oh well.
  6. It all depends on the type of work you're planning on doing. Scroll saws are good for artsy craft type projects, and other intricate cut-out work on stock that is not too thick. A fretsaw (hand saw) can do the same job. Bandsaws are limited in that you can't do cut-out work, but can still achieve quite intricate results with a narrower (1/8 - 1/4") blades. They are more versatile otherwise, and a good bandsaw will see a lot of use in the workshop. They're ideal for ripping rough lumber and resawing. But not all bandsaws are created equal and setup is finicky at the best of times.
  7. It's much less complicated than that. Just find content you both enjoy, and watch whatever you want in your "own" time. If a tv dictates one's life and relationship choices, that person has bigger problems.
  8. Veganic farming? It's called crop production. As if that "Veganaury" wasn't cringe worthy enough.
  9. You'd have to 'clean' up the wood to be able to identify the specie. My money is still on oregon pine though.
  10. Looks like old oregon pine to me. A planer will bring the wood back to life again ready for a new project. Just watch out for nails and screws - it'll ruin your blades/knives. The world is your oyster...
  11. Is it just me, or are all these new bikes ugly AF?
  12. No, They're in the same pool (B) where they'll play each other, and if both teams go further, they'll only meet again in the final. QF 1: Winner of pool C vs Runner up of pool D QF 2: Winner of pool B vs Runner up of pool A QF 3: Winner of pool D vs Runner up of pool C QF 4: Winner of pool A vs Runner up of pool B SF 1: Winners of QF1 vs QF2 SF 2: Winners of QF 3 vs QF4 Final: ....
  13. Copied the Ripmo’s? [emoji2960]
  14. https://www.strandhardware.co.za/nova-drill-chuck-12-2mt You'll need a MT2 adapter though. Give them a call, they have more turning gear than the other dealers.
  15. Trek is making some seriously good looking alloy frames.
  16. Looks like someone made a good looking santa cruz
  17. Same fossils still using Internet Explorer?
  18. Submitted returns last night, first time in 4 years I'm not audited. At least one bonus so far.
  19. XTs are good only for a while. Never had brakes that needed rebleeding so often. Had a set of Curas for a while, and whilst they were working, they were quite okay. But the lever design is also a bit different to XT and Sram's - more moto like and almost not suitable to small hands. My set of Guides RSs were fantastic when they worked, but I struggled for quite a while to get them working again 100%. As someone else said, not everyone gets the bleeding 100%. I eventually replaced them with Hopes, and they're still sitting in a box at home waiting to be used again...but finances don't allow new bikes now. Perhaps it's time to off-load in the classifieds. Note on Sram brakes, run organic pads instead of metallic ones. They're less noisy and for me, they work better than the metallic ones. More initial bite, and no fade either.
  20. Poor performance from both teams. The only thing the boks did well was the rush defense that stymied the NZ back line and overall attack. Bar for the 2 smallest players in the team, our back line was impotent at best, and our attack was as one-dimensional as SA rugby can get - forwards in the back line playing crash ball and not getting over the advantage line. Also, playing way too flat (probably as a result of the defense strategy), our guys are just passing the ball to the next guy, not running one meter forward or drawing in any defenders. You can't win if you're not scoring points. It's also embarrassing to celebrate the draw like they did. Expectations and standards are obviously low.
  21. Was it not our own Haroon Lorgat that sold us and the rest of the teams out to the "top 3"?
  22. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Last year's only high light was the NZ win. We still lost to Wales, England, Australia and let's not forget Argentina.
  23. We should just skip this pussyfooting and go straight to dual rotors with 6 or 8 piston calipers.
  24. Haha. Here I thought I was the only one that noticed that. I always just say; ‘oh look, we’ve got a badass with mad skillz over here!” It’s like those tappets wearing a tapout tshirt - instant fighting cred.
