  1. Yeah, but is this latest trend empowering "WoC" or is it just cheap marketing/publicity stunt to score attention/stay relevant to, as you say, a product/market/industry gone stale?
  2. With 26" wheels and a stem longer than the bike's reach...that lock is over kill.
  3. My lil boi
  4. Well, now we’re not going to hear the end of it with the poms.
  5. Dhoni hasn't been in the mood to up his strike rate this wc. Rooting for India here in the hopes for a better final.
  6. Kinda feel for India here. Pitch is a let down. And if NZ goes through to the final I suspect they would get thrashed by either Oz or England.
  7. It seems like it's one of those days where you pull your A-game in the bedroom in the morning and let her sleep in for the rest of the day to recover.
  8. Maybe his car and bicycle is broken?
  9. Wouldn't have thought otherwise. Looks pretty diy to me.
  10. WC results shouldn't come as a surprise. As you said, Warner and Smith wasn't in the squad then, and Oz was a pretty demoralized team at that stage. That series win means as much as a Zim series win. Sri lanka is also at one of their worst performing streaks of late, and it seems Pakistan is following suit. So we were playing against very average teams.
  11. Ain't gonna happen. The power-that-be are there only to serve their own agendas and line their pockets. We've seen this in other sports as well. Everyone know WP rugby and SARU is a mess, yet we only see the coaching staff getting the axe. CSA is no different.
  12. There is a slight offset in lower part of the seat tube, but it looks like 10 mm at best. *you can see it on the photo where the down tube and seat tube meet on the bottom bracket.
  13. Looks wise it's rather neat. But that shock offset looks pretty extreme, and I'd imagine some ankle rub would be a problem. I've read of numerous complaints about the Orbea rallon's shock that's in the way, and the offset is not nearly as bad. Also, those unsupported mounting bolts on the shock is interesting.
  14. Holy crap. Does that crank/pedal even clear the shock? This just looks like a bad idea.
  15. Maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s methamphetamine.
  16. At this rate they’re better of making some sightseeing plans with all the time they’re going to have on their hands.
  17. A moment of silence for the Proteas please.
  18. Start off with a No 4 or 5. There's really no need to own every plane size. A #7 is a jointer plane. If you're not edge joining long boards or flattening big table tops it's really redundant. Look for pre-WW2 Stanley USA planes. They're the actual collectors items. Otherwise the Record planes are better than the later (>40's) Stanley US and England planes. Also, don't spend too much on an old plane, including your labour to restore it. Time spent restoring old tools is time that could be spent on building something, and learning from it. But restore at least one plane - it'll help you to learn more about the tool and to get the most out of it. Hand tools are pretty useless if they're not sharp, so factor in a decent stone as well, like those 1000/6000 ceramic stones.
  19. Doing snatches with previous back injuries you were looking for ***. It's one exercise I'll also never do again, since my shoulder injury. Which I also happen to dislocate again a few weeks ago. "luckily" i caught the flu, so I can't try to rush recovery. But I'm at the point of giving up cycling; tennis elbow, ulnar nerve pinching and a messed up shoulder see me off the bike basically since Feb.
  20. Table saw will be the easiest. But hand tools will work just as well. A hand saw, a steady hand, and cut to size. Then finesse to final dimension/accuracy with a hand plane and/or sanding block (glue some sanding paper to a flat surface like a granite top).
  21. It’s essentially a horst link design, but they circumvented the patent rights by adding the so-called 4 by linkage between the seatstay and the rocker link. Specialized owns the patent to the horst link design and you’d have to pay royalties to them if you wanted to use it. Well up until its recent patent expiry. That extra linkage in the Knolly serves no other purpose, unless you want to believe their marketing bs and are a fan of unnecessary added complexity and weight.
  22. yeah, they can try put whatever bs spin on those linkage design, in the end of the day it's just an unnecessary/useless design to get past the spez patent.
  23. Wait is this some sort of joke I'm too privileged to understand.
  24. All those bench top table saws are the same., although I think the Dewalt might be the better of the lot. With some effort you can have a decent saw that will be good for the majority of diy jobs. It all depends on what you want to do with it. The odd job now and again doesn’t justify spending more on it. I’d personally look for a decent 2nd hand cabinet style saw in the classifieds if you’re on a budget and are looking at something for more than just pallet and plywood furniture. The functionality of a table saw goes beyond just rip cuts. With sleds and jigs you don’t need a mitre saw so it does make sense to buy the best saw you can afford or even stretch your budget.
  25. I also didn't 'catch' the meme the first time I saw it. My first thought was that who looks at their cards in such a way that anyone would be able to see it in a sunglasses' reflection. Probably the same rookies that pick up their cards as soon as the dealer drops it.
