  1. im also back in after a good couple of years ignoring these threads. my continual ignorance of my weight is starting to show in my BP/cholesterol etc the tide needs to turn in 2020.
  2. cool Hairy, you are welcome to take it for a spin. I will Pm you my deets and we can meet up sometime.
  3. Thanks man, it is a large frame and i am 182/183cm, the frame is rather roomy, i could have gone medium. I imported a Soma Steel MTB fork (made by tange) aaaages ago, it's been powdercoated from its original glossy black, unfortunately this resulted in the loss of the rad logo.
  4. I have had a cold for 2 weeks. Sore throat and a headache, with a general feeling of crappiness.
  5. Gritty Crit
  6. i was proper sick for a week at the beginning of this month. Pretty nuts fever, absolutely crazy headache and burning eyes, with a nose that felt like i had snorted cement. Been doing nothing exerting for 3 weeks, because although i am symptom free (apart from this damn blocked nose) i still feel off, decided i had had enough and NEEDED to go for a ride. Took a chilled ride, but man, there is still something lurking inside, i felt terrible. Like bonking, but after a ride that would get me the opposite of a PB. My mind wants to fly, but my body can only crawl.
  7. shame man, that is a swak one, i also need a bell. On another note, Cryotherapy sessions are like R500 per session, we get ours for free......i am still cold from this am cycle.

    Who remembers?

    that soup was expensive!!!!!!
  10. Stall_Gear, I really like your bike, I enjoy "muts" it showcases ones individual flair, and really makes the bike special. Judging by the high seat post and the rather tiny head tube, i recon dropbars are not going to be comfortable (unless you use a siff uppy looking stem) I rate keep the flat bars on.
  11. I wish you a Speedy Recovery from the Op
  12. 100% - horses for courses.
  13. and to boot, this weekend cycling back from town on the cycle path, there is the bridge you go under that smells like you are cycling through a portaloo, and there are 2 dudes sitting on the path shooting up heroin.
  14. Hey there i tried contacting Transnet, PPA and City of Cape Town in this regard... I got the run around from transnet but finally an emphatic NO, a polite mail from PPA (eventually) that says they are still dealing with the matter, but if you read in between the lines it is pointless, and the City of Cape Town completely ignored me (apart from the automated replies telling me that i wouldnt be ignored)
  15. lucky Sierrrd i don't know if it is just me, but at times when my backpack straps are too tight, i end up getting my helmet adjuster thing caught in the backpack top handle/strap.......it always happens at very inconvenient times (going down a pavement in this mornings case)
  16. I have a coaster brake on my Gas-pipe Gitane Goodness knows what year, but i think its about as old as its owner (almost 40) Fun beachfront riding, wanted to make it a fixie, but concerned for my swiss cheese knees.

    Sockdoping

i dabble in sockdoping, but i have enough normal socks not to warrant going FULL doper. so it is time for a purge - i will have lots of dull old socks lying about, so here is a twist on the thread: What to do with your old socks when you are off sockdoping - http://www.businessinsider.com/62-things-you-can-do-with-your-old-mismatched-socks-2015-6 #disclaimer - some of these suggestions are lame.....but some are good.
  18. i think this tune is kick@ss. starts slow and becomes beautiful, with a beat and a rhythm made for digging deep in a quad shattering gear. Good headphones and good volume you wont even notice the okes at gym staring at you while you molest the wattbike.
  19. i had "the" cold for the past 2 weeks. felt like crap, feeling better now but the sinus area is just not getting better. got gatvol of not cycling and started commuting to work again for the past 2 days - 1stly i feel way less fit, like i am continually out of breath, and man have i been working on my snot rocket skills. anyway i was cycling home last evening and going to be late for a dinner with mates. so i put foot, thats when i felt i wasnt 100% - it was like i was bonking, but without having any energy to have begun with.....like an immediate bonk. got home after 23k and i was Klaar.
  20. Wow, an inspiration, I salute this man.
  21. Hey Stoffies, i think he means the actual bus.
  22. I dont run alot, and have knee issues, but want to do offroad hillclimbs/trail climbs for intensity. i tried on a good couple of shoes, and the pair that i ended up getting were saucony nomad tr - they have very little heel drop and a large toe box area. they are the most comfortable running shoes i have ever worn apart from Nike Free 3's
