  3. ok here's a very good treatment. A bit messy but it helpem me when I broke my shoulder. Was given to me by the dude who I go to accupuncture for (or dry needles as some call it here). a) Rest b) Get some fresh ginger and peel of the skin. Shave the ginger with a cheese grater or whatever Get some kitchen plastic wrap and a helping hand Place the shaved ginger on the inflamed bits and wrap it in the wrap . After a while, it will start to heat up, it's meant to do this. It will get VERY hot and try and stick it out for as long as you can. The first few times maybe remove it after it gets a bit hot so you can get used to it. Repat step b. Basically the ginger increases the circulation to the inflamed area which helpd to heal it quicker. gianni2007-03-26 08:09:50

  5. They've had some issues with brake calipers breaking but hey...it's a new groupset so it's going to have some teething probs.
  6. Risi is practically the Godfather of track racing or to more precise 6 day racing. He's the guy everyone goes to when there's a problem or something needs to be sorted out. Like Bettini arguing with (?) forgot his name in a recent 6 day. They go to him to sort things out. As has been said...what's the point of watching a no contest. Maybe they should have picked weaker opposition ?? and you van bet your azz that Risi got some cash to come to SA too :-)
  7. The Giro site as can be seen in these posts and some previous ones OBVIOUSLY doesn't work as required. I think CL knows this and now has more than enough ammunition to change the status quo. As Napalm says, it's probably all down to contracts etc. Hopefully there's a clause referring to quality of service from the service providers side..........
  8. so where is he now?
  9. I am...but VERY lucky to have him in my area. All the rest are pretty much ordinary, no give a damn attitude. I'm sure there's some of the good ones back home too.....
  10. my LBS has to be ranked as one of the best in the world. The guy has a tool for EVERY job (Park Tool) and when putting bikes together (even the cheapie junk) he takes out the BBs , checks the threads, re-skims the edge if there's paint on it, re-greaes etc. + he builds the best wheels ever. That's the difference between someone just doing a job and somenone who KNOWS and LOVES what they do. I suppose being the owner of the shop is also extra motivation. VERY lucky.
  11. Gotty was mentioned in the INITIAL letter my CH.
  12. Carinus.....................as the director of the Giro, can you not sort out the company that is responsable for the Giro site ?? It's VERY frustrating trying to keep up with the news from here as that's the only resource we have. Today it's down again. Being in the industry for almost 10yrs now and having seen the calibre of work out there, including your eavesdrop.co.za site, surely there's someone else who could do a better job! gianni2007-02-19 07:09:28
  13. if it's any consolation it's just as bad this side of the pond.....politics rule wherever you are.
  14. You and me both.
  15. Don't have a hernia.......my typing sucks and I didn't feel like typing the word ENLGLISH When you get the point let me know..or I can spell it out for you. This guy is a JOURNALIST. These people are at least mean to make sure that their words makes sense + he's the dude who manages the CSA website..............that makes sense. gianni2007-02-18 09:19:35
  16. Then write in in Afrikaans.....that's a bull excuse. I know what you're saing but ch chose to write in Eng and so he should make sure he wrote it at least SLIGHTLY correctly. Goes for ANY anguage. gianni2007-02-17 15:54:13
  17. The man needs some language / spelling lessons......... Man that's bad. Isn't he the journalist dude ??gianni2007-02-17 13:23:55

  21. Of you who use power, how many times do yuo re-test yourselves to check your FTP?
  22. I would suggest (and others like BikeMax and Bruce will probably give you better suggestions), that you 1) Get back into the swing of things by just ridign the bike for a bit. Maybe a month or two nice and easy if you have done nothing for a while. 2) Go and do a lab test whereby you will get back results such as lactate threshold, body fat etc. 3) read this: http://www.cyclingpeakssoftware.com/power411/ (of course you don't have to wait to read this) 4) Put together a realistic plan based on your goals. There are many people who can give you good advice on this forum. 5) Once you've reached a certain level you may want to use the services of a coach like BikeMax etc. or getting basic trainng programs online. If you're going to use power on the Tacx, you should continue this training with a power meter once you're training outdoots....
