Where did you get the adaptor that attaches the back disk brake to the frame?

If the trek adaptor is not quite right for yor frame, take a look at A2Z universal disc brake adaptor which is suitable for older frames. I have just put one on a 1999 trek which doesn't have the holes for fixing a trek/Gary fisher adaptor. I got mine from Wiggle. Will post a pic tomorrow.

Still trying to decide whether to leave the white Manitou fork on or put this carbon rigid fork on (which is currently on the Cotic)...

312386_10151494981594985_332671975_n.jpgI built this steel single speed from parts lying around just before my Christmas holidays.

On Saturday I was invited to go for a road ride in the Cradle by some mates. I don't have a road bike, so I took this out for a spin as it's maiden voyage. A 90km maiden voyage.

How sweet it is to pass roadies with their 80mm deep section carbon wheels and 7kg bikes on the hills with this 11kg, 20-year old bike with no gears. 42x18 was interesting up some of the hills but it's super-smooth and surprisingly fast!

What a fun outing!

its really a nice feeling knowing that having a techno phobs dream bike can still keep up with todays fancy bling bling and still be enjoyable and fun and as good if not better a ride.

i love the feel of a good steel frame , looks good, happy miles ahead.

Ryanpmb, I really like the finish you got there thumbup1.gif

I am in the beginning stages of a SS project and would like advice on whether I should keep the frame as is....or hire a stripper ph34r.png

What dirt rider said ;)

Seriously though, what's the condition of that frame? I like how it looks just like that - is it matt black? If the paintwork is in good nic I reckon it looks cool just like that.

If you do decide to strip and prep PM and I'll give some advice based on my project.

The frame is actually brand new and matt black in clolur. So, in fantastic shape.....I have just been thinking that I should build her with the frame as is and then later if I get bored of the look.....call in the stripper...and Thug off course smile.png
