Met Liezel in a LBS a year or 2 back. Had no idea who she was. Just a pleasant looking blonde. Oh, and nice legs. She was friendly, had a chat about the bike she was getting and she chatted away to my 9 year-old daughter about dancing and girlie things.

Definately no airs about having been on tv etc. Found out who she was afterwards.....but still didn't know her.

So in a nutshell, she wasn't much different, maybe more pleasant, than most the girls and guys I mite meet in the LBS.

TheHub is a bit harsh to these non-professional/recreational cyclists. Lets not forget, they make up the numbers in the races that enable the rest of you/us to say how well you/we did relative to the number of entries. 100th out of 100 in the Argus would sound quite ***.

SteveCT, and any idiot who seems to share his shoolyard bully mentality - GROW UP!

I happen to know Liezel personally and have been to the hospital after her accident. She has been seriously injured and feels let down about the fact that she won't be able to participate in this year's Iron Man Challenge. Not only is her injury a fact, but she has also taken part in Iron Man before. Successfully, I might add.

To now suddenly turn around and superficially apologise about your tactless rant, blaming the staff at YOU Magazine for a poor reporting job, is probably even more tactless in itself. WHO READS YOU MAGAZINE!?

Get a job, or a lover or something normal in your life. You must be very sad and lonely if you enjoy berating people in such a public way.

Three words Ron....POT, KETTLE, BLACK.

I happen to know SteveCT personally and as his explanation of his intentions clearly show, it was, as I originally assumed, nothing more than poking a bit of fun at a celebrity.

It's half the hubbers jumping on their usual high horses and to conclusions about his intentions that made a mountain of a molehill.

I just re-read the original post and Steve, I still don't think an apology was required, but that's just me.

Relax a little guys.

Mintsauce,

I believe I understand your point.

Unfortunately, one can control one's intention and cannot at all control the impact of one's actions on another.

If one's actions or words offend another, even if one did not mean to or intended to, an apology would be cool, e.g. "Sorry, man, I did not intend to rip off Liezl, I meant to have some light fun..."

Saying sorry is not always about admission of guilt or being 'wrong'; it can just be about 'oops, did not mean to offend...'.

Hopes this makes sense...

It is about taking total responsibility for my words and actions, even if I did not intend to offend you, I might have...

The dude abides.

Jesus Quintana: You ready to be ******, man? I see you rolled your way into the semis. Dios mio, man. Liam and me, we're gonna **** you up.

The Dude: Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Jesus Quintana: Let me tell you something, pendejo. You pull any of your crazy **** with us, you flash a piece out on the lanes, I'll take it away from you, stick it up your *** and pull the ******* trigger 'til it goes "click."

The Dude: Jesus.

Jesus Quintana: You said it, man. Nobody ****s with the Jesus.

Walter Sobchak: Eight-year-olds, Dude.

You'll always find critisism, but the worst of some comments are those who reply that shes not the brightest or a dumb blonde. What is all that about, you've tested her Iq? Been in school with her...

I agree with you here, still can't understand what all the fuss is about. Would people speak of their wives, girlfriends & friends in this manner? Not very Ayoba
