I'm sorry I couldn't get a picture of it but I was driving up quite a steep hill the other day and on the other side I saw what looked like a delivery guy on a dikwiel fiets with a huge cardboard box mounted in an expanded metal frame on the front of the bars, but what made me laugh was to see the guy in a full-on aero tuck, getting as low as possible on the bike and as far as I could see he had a massive grin on his face as he flew down the hill.

It made me realise that it's not really about the bike that you're on but rather the fact that you are on a bike with the wind in your hair. At that moment I wished I could be out riding my bike instead of driving to see a client.

Slight slant. The other winter morning I was riding with my son in the very cold and dark. Fully kitted with a sense of bravado and "Look at me - ruff and tuff ". From a distance we could hear a loud shriek of delight and the sound of castors on the tar road. Our lights could not focus on anything , but it could only have been a youngster on a platform mounted on castors racing down a fairly steep hill. At happened to be the morning when the 'informal plastic collectors ' do their rounds in the neighbourhood. Truly inspiring and humbling. Edited by Tromp

I must remember the next time I see this guy doing this!!

Those from Cape Town or know it and know where Viglietti motors are and the road(tennant street) that runs from there past Cape Tech to the Goodhope center. Well there is this dude that operates with a Trolley collecting who knows what. Every so and again we seem standing just above the back castors body leaning over the trolley and speeding down this hill using his body weight to steer the trolley.

My apartment overlooks a busy 2 lane road that has a sweet gradient. Every Thursday morning around 5 the same group of recyclers fly past my window. During a summer training ride I caught them and rolled for about 1km along side. Their teeth were out and you could see the were loving the feeling of forward motion. Small Things bringing joy.

Wow, blowing bubblegum from there, that's pretty novel.
