I actually checked a documentary on this (well this was part of it) on discovery a couple of weeks ago - seems like the US army dropped the project as it was costing too much money - and they are too far away from it being practical - fuel hungry and noisy

Ive been keeping my eye on this robot for a while. I first saw it in 2013, could not believe what it is capable of. the way it can jump like a horse is very freaky. But I think the break through in robotics is coming VERY soon with the great strides being made in super light weight future materials and of course Fusion reactors. Think Iron Mans suit, powered by a tiny Fusion reactor.
