So, it happened. Again.

I forgot to pack underpants.

Moral of the story - when packing your bag with clothes for the day - FOCUS. Ignore the screaming kid. Ignore the bin truck. Ignore the barking dog.

Or keep a pair of undies in your desk drawer, but things might be a little weird when the cleaning lady does her rounds...

Learnt two things today :

- nothing as nice as the sound of cycle tires on the tar road when commuting home after a trying day ......

- Shimano triggers can be pulled and pushed for a downshift .... Since using the SRAM on the MTB I got used to "pushing" both levers ... today I pushed the Shimano short lever and it actually changed down ....

I have done that a few times. I make sure when walking past someone I greet them loudly and with confidence and make eye contact. Remember to give a few extra shakes at the urinal if you are wearing light pants!

As long as you don't have lacy thongs in your drawer who cares what the cleaning lady sees in your drawers.

WRT packing at home.  I have started the habit lately of packing my work clothes and cycling kit before I go to bed.  I get things done earlier and less chance of forgetting stuff.

nah ... can never do that .. I pack in the morning and just lay everything out on the bed before putting it in my bag

Used to do that.  But nowadays as the sun is up early I leave earlier to meet some other guys for a group commute to work.  So now I have to get up earlier while the missus still sleeps. Experience teaches you that you can have world peace if you don't wake a sleeping lion  :whistling:

Changing jobs 1st of July. And so my daily commute Glencairn-Muizenberg is almost coming to an end. The past few weeks I have been working early and late to transition into the new job. Interestingly, I noticed quite a few commuters heading for Simon's Town. SA Navy okes, I reckon.

So, no more daily riding to supplement my running. Which is a pity, because it is such a good foundation for your training time. Next, I will be doing home office. Should I ride from my bedroom to office room? Ride around Glencairn with a backpack? Or perhaps just do a coffee session at Cape Point.

Swift while you work.  Does that count as a commute?
