Thinking that the geax combo might be too heavy for me (that is what the bike store told me...I'm s short lady) I think I must choose between Shwable or Continental combo? I know the Scwable wear quickly...but if you are light the "hard" tyres does not grip that well..Any body heard of Onza tyres?

I run Onza: Ibex front and Canis rear. Transformed my bike. Best upgrade yet (still need to get a dropper seatpost, though).

I was thinking of getting Onza for my next set of tyres...do you run them tubeless?

Posted

I run them tubeless.

Grip is good (esp with Ibex which is more of a trail/all mountain pattern) and the Canis is fast rolling. I don't think you get the Ibex in 29er, but I've seen a lot of new BMC-s running Canis front and rear.

At this stage I cannot comment on longevity, but it seems to be an inbetween compound.

i noticed the rocket rons min and max psi

min 2 bar and max 3 bar

before i fitted these i rode 1.8bar rear and 1.6bar front. i am concern the tyres will be too hard if a go 2 bar.

what are ur experiences regarding the pressures of the ron's

and what precautions must i take with these tires, besides enough stans...

I ran the Rons front and back, awesome tyres, 1.8R & 1.7F, never even realised the min and mx. It worked perfectly fine at those pressures, maybe they are just assuming a heavy rider, cant really print different min's and max's for every weight category on the tyre? My view.

I have the Maxxis high Roller (2.5) on the front and Maxxis Monorail (2.2) on the back. I had the Onza Ibex on the back its a nice tire and very sticky but wears down very very quickly!

I weigh 84kgs and run my Rocket Ron 2.25 on the front at 1.5 to 1.6 depending on the terrain. Rocky 1.6 and less rocky 1.5.

I run a Specialized Ground Control 2.1 at the back at 1.8.

all this on a hardtail 29er.

Just put Kenda slant 6 on front with nevegal on the rear. Had crossmarks on front and rear previously. I find the kendas very slow. Any feedback??

Nevegals are some of the slowest rolling tyres ever tested, but they are pretty damn grippy.

Technically, you'd be better off running the combo the other way around (Nevegal front, as it's the more aggressive of the two, Slant 6 rear). You'll likely find this improves the feeling of "slowness" as less weight will be on the Nev.
