Did Takealot accept that you were sold a fake? Or did they ask a thousand questions?

They didn't seem too concerned TBH. I called them as soon as I realised and told them I wasn't happy with the item and that I suspected that it was a fake and wanted to return it.

Women said "So you aren't happy with your purchase?" I said not at all and she processed the return. Courier collected yesterday.

Well that's good that it was sorted so easily but a bit disturbing that it happened at all. What if the quality was not so immediately off? You would not have known until it was too late.

Yeah, I think it fell more under their returns policy than the "Hey you sold me a fake!" policy unfortunately.

Going to contact the supplier direct and see what they say...

So the supplier (Timber Trend) assures me that it isn't a knock off and the reason for the lack of branding is that they were offered the option of branding or no branding and they chose not to brand...... Mmm Kay.They offered to replace or refund me to which I politely declined. They apologized for the bad quality and assured me that they would take it up with the supplier.

I decided to just leave it at that.

Beware the Aeropress from Timber Trend......

If Aerobie value their brand, I doubt they would send a product out unbranded.

I've done a bit of searching since you posted the photos, and there are fakes in the market that look very similar to the one you show in your photos.

Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks. Just sent them a mail with the details and pics as well as a link to the takealot link. Will wait to see what they say

Edit: After reading up on the Aeropress Materials page it is quite apparent that I almost got shafted...

It is interesting that Morecoffee - the official importer also sells via takealot - just another R100...

I have never heard of a brand doing anything like that. Imagine Nike or Polo offering unbranded options. Sounds dodgy to me

New Aeropress arrived from More Flavour. All is well again

No response from Aerobie though....

did you order through Takealot, or directly through MF?

As V12man mentioned previously, they also sold through Takealot.

This came through Takealot but it had the More Flavor branding on the packaging.

My options were Takealot or Takealot.... I had a credit that was sitting there since April and I needed to spend it. After complaining about the Timber Trend unit, they passed another credit... Luckily More Flavor were also vendors so I ordered from them

And being as well schooled as I was by that stage regarding most things Aeropress I was guaranteed of a good product!
