Most comfortable MTB saddles

i am on my 2d WTB silverado .Momsen saddle on standard bike is also worth a mention

Tried a couple of saddles and for some obscure reason I have found a cheapy OEM Scott saddle to really do the trick for my rear end and have come away from a 24hr event feeling good.

 

I usually get them from R150 - R200

Exactly what worked for me - got a Silverback saddle (R150) from cycle store that had taken it off for a fussy customer and now it has done several crater cruisers etc...love it

I think most of the general OEM saddles are made by velo and are just about the same ... mostly that is.

It seems like every cyclists litany: I tried x number of saddles before, by luck, found the right one. Seems like the shops should respond to market sentiment and have demo saddles available.

 

I have also tried various saddles, Fizik was torture, Spez not comfortable. Fortunately, my behind seems to like the shape of the Selle Italia SLR. Got the kit carbonio flow on the dual sus and the SLR XC on the SS.

Spent 21 hours on it non-stop for the 36one(on a hard-tail)......and was ready to get back on it the next morning!

 

Got a Planet-X on my girl bike(road bike).......a close second!

Trying to get my hands on 1 of these (SBC right?), but with NO luck yet. Where can I try to get it? Ridden my brother's Silverback HT & it seems like a very comfy saddle.

 

I've had the standard X-mission saddle on my Merida HT & didn't like it at all on long rides (2+ hours of riding) then got a Spez Indie XC & it's pretty fair on 3.5 hour rides, but longer it kills me. Tried the Gobi & didn't like it at all. Got the Spez on my Giant trance (DS)

Brooks, Terry Fly and Koobi are used by more than 90% of Great Divide and RAAM riders. I rode diffferent Fizik saddles for more than 7 years - now on Terry, and not looking back.

Terry Fly Carbon - you can get good deals on eBay. Brooks you can find in SA at www.bikeandsaddle.com. Brooks need to be broken in, but once it is broken in, it is very comfortable. It is, however, a bit heavy. Selle San Marco makes a similar saddle - the Anatomica. Interesting that a large portion of the pro-peleton ride Selle San Marco's unbranded to avoid sponsorship issues. Lance Armstrong rode an old model Selle San Marco Concor his whole career. They don't go for lightest in saddles, but for most comfortable.

Well it oftens happens that the first seat you start off with, you get used to and changes after just dont feel right.

For me the

SDG TiFlyC and the SDG Formula FXR are super comfortable on road and MTB.

currently trying the Specialised Romin on the road bike and Stella Italia on the mtb - jurys still out on this one...

Had the SDG Belair which came with my GT, that was really comfortable, then swopped to a WTB Rocket V which was the same level.

 

Now I ride a Gobi, took a while to get used to but thats definitely the one.

Cant vote uve listed all the k@k & expensive saddles here.Usually for cred more then anything.

SDG and WTB own most of those saddles , on price , look & comfort

I ride with a Gobi and get numb on longer rides...

Where is best to get your ass measured and what is the process, do you sit on a kind of machine or do you "assume the position" on hands and knees and some dude whips out a tape?

Need another for the road bike on the indoor trainer. The old Selle Italia Flite titanium is bliksem hard but was excellent when I was lighter and raced a lot.
