Its a bit more complicated than that. Your question is kind of like "What temp does your fire need to be to braai?"

 

If its too hot but burns out to quick - you`re screwed

If its burns long but not hot enough - your screwed.

 

Also depends on what you want to braai - chicken needs slow burn with lower heat - steak needs a hotter fire.

 

So back to your question - It will depend on your fitness, body type, activity level, type of race ect.
