to the douchebag on the spruit this afternoon (between bryanston drive and 12th ave) who had the nerve to shout at me to "keep to the ...er, erm.. uh. LEFT!" - get a grip you retard!

if YOU are the one doing mach 1 around a blind corner, common courtesy dictates that YOU take evasive action when you come around said corner and find someone in front of you facing the opposite direction.

you have no right to anything, let alone to shout instructions at other people. I know what you look like, next time i will put my arm out and clothes-line you as you come past.

ps. not that i owe you an explanation, but i feel that to put things in context for the other readers on the forum - the reason i was on the right-hand track was because I moved out of the way of your buddy who was on the left, ie. MY side of the track.

There are many places on the Spruit where blind corners demand a bit of caution.

Else your teeth are going to get stuck on the handlebar of an oncoming bike!

Same thing almost happened to me a couple of times, and remember to spare a thought for the other riders / runners / dog walkers / horse riders as well.

the spruit is a busy place, be courteous and expect other users.

So not worth it from either side.

You want to cut the oke and he wants to feed your teeth to you one by one. Not worth it.

Just smile and get on with your ride. No use in fretting about stupid **** the rest of the ride. Just spoils it man.

Ah I remember those days living in JHB, dying a little bit each day, waiting to leave again. Can't imagine what it must be like trying to ride there - no mountains, bike jackings around every corner, incredible aggression everywhere, and folks fighting over flat city paths that are really only meant for folks walking their dogs.

Yeah, that's why most of us up here ride real bikes. On the tar.

I'm guessing you also need to have brass balls to ride in Gauteng traffic.

I'm visiting the folks for xmas and not sure yet if I should take my tarmac with me. Especially after reading on this site about what goes down in vaalie land these days, I'll probably chicken out.

Then again, it might be the safest place to ride that time of year - no one in josie to worry about (they'll all be down in my home town causing mayhem again).

Shew, these mtber's are an aggressive lot.

No more shew wow, it's all about enjoyment and like, nature, and like the ride?

We have a ton of race-ists on the spruit, out trying to beat personal bests or break Olympic records or something. It's rather amusing to me how serious they take themselves
