There are tjops who can be aggressive and pushy (no names, no pack-drill), but that's life. Unfortunately, we also can't get away from the reality of the situation. The Table Mountain muggings, for example, aren't rich kids from Constantia. Not that I know of. It's easier for them to rob their parents, and I'm sure they do that with skill. A good friend has actually recovered several bikes and restored them to their rightful owners by exactly this method. So what we win on the swings, we lose on the roundabouts. Maybe one day you'll be grateful that someone somewhere thinks, "I'm not sure about this situation, lemme check it out." Yes, I'm sure there's some old prejudices involved. But then, at the "Museum of Prejudice" (I think it's in the States somewhere) there are two doors in. One says, "I have prejudice" and opens. The other says, "I have no prejudice" and doesn't. I have actually grown up in the new South Africa and have friends across the board, and you'll find me with my arms around my friends of all colours. what i do get pissed off with is people skirting around the race topic - just call the guy a racist or keep it to yourself. Christopher Brunsdon Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 So I decided to buy a cheapie to do some training rides on, and just pop down to the shop with..... .... I think too many are too quick to judge without thinking for one moment. I had a reality check a few years back when I saw a black guy race like a bat out of hell past me one day as I was walking to the local Spar to get some lunch. I was still thinking should I phone the cops, should I post on The Hub, etc The guy was suspiciously fast, he was cycling a MTB, and it had a half bike attached to it. It screamed a crime has just happened. On my return from the Spar, the same fella cam cruising past me with a kid on the half-bike. It dawned on me that he was racing to get his employers son at the primary school down the road and was racing against the clock. Since that day I've changed my attitude. milky4130 and Heckflosse 2

Yelling at each other wont fix itFor sure, a couple of weeks back I was in the field next to where I live playing ball with the dogs when some black guys called me over to the fence. I went to go and see what they wanted, turns out they were staying at a self catering venue across the road from me (and had been dropped off by taxi and had no transport) and wanted to go to the local game reserve for a game drive and seeing how I 'owned' this big property and was a white farmer (was said in jest but we white 'farming' folk get the gist of the comment) could I take them in my car! I told them I dont own the property, only rent here, and that not all white folk were rich! A little different from the original post but it just shows how assumptions because of colour can be wrong and racism is alive and well, it takes many different forms and shapes but you should realise thats just how it is all over the world and will always be so. We are different colours, have different cultures and should accept we are different instead of this rainbow nation crap that (in my opinion) just causes more trouble as it tries to force us all into one mould. arendoog 1

The other day I cut in front of a black dude in my car. At the next traffic light he rolled his window down and shouted at me that I should look how I drive. Told me Im a F#cking pinky. I found it extremely amuzing. Sometimes we just need to relax.

If you spot a dodgy looking oke on a white Morewood Makulu with a white marzo fork and hope brakes in the Retreat/Steenberg/Lakeside/Tokai area please feel free to stop the person. I don't care what colour they are. You can them bring him to my house and watch me feed him through the mulcher and spread out in my garden. (I'm joking of course.
