Firstly, we wish them a speedy recovery from their injuries.

We as cyclist can shout that enough is enough, but until such time as those in authority take some serious action, it will continue.

What will it take for the desired action to be taken?

Nice to see eNCA flight a report on these two cyclists this morning. People need to be made aware of our vunerability while on the roads.

untill every one using the road realize that we must share the road and that you do not own the road i think not much will happen.it is the attitude of all road users that need to change.that is motorists, pedestrians, cyclist, motorbikes etc.how to do this however is the million dollar question and i do not have the answer.

I was out for a run this morning and some teenage idiot came around the corner and came very close to mounting the curb, pushing me well onto the side and adjacent bushes. Luckily for me he was drilling his car and I heard him before I saw him and I decided to take evasive action "just in case".

You could see it in his face that he'd misjudged his capabilities/the turn because he looked panicked as he took the corner. If I was on my bike going in the same direction as him I would most likely have been hit.

How do we fight this scourge?

Hope the ladies recover soon.

A twenty-two-year old female cyclist is in a critical condition after a vehicle smashed into her in Richards bay this afternoon.

When will enough be just that?

Wishing her a full recovery.!

when the authorities scrap the call for a 1.5m gap when over taking cyclists and concentrate their resources on making collisions with cyclists/motorcyclists/pedestrians a criminal offence (like murder).

So I was going down Old Jhb road on the dirt when a motorist pull infront of me to pick up a local slut . I hit him on the passenger door but kept control of the bike . He wanted to drive until he saw me taking a picture of his car . Now he jumps out and makes a scene about the nice dent in his door . It so happened that Wierda bridge Sap was across the road . So I asked him to join me there as I am going to report the matter . Now his story changes and when he started to waffle I just went across the road to report the matter . So here is the deal , you can report it if you want and thats it . No reckless driving or any other thing . So I reported it just for record puposes . My new friend did come into the station to say how sorrry he was . Case closed , btw this was while riding back from the mass ride.

Are you saying it is the cyclist fault?

I bet you these people were not hit because they were breaking a rule!

Not saying cyclist should break rules just pointing out that the problem does not lie with cyclist.

Wishing these fellow riders a speedy recovery!

You seem to have a serious problem. Please seek help. "ALL" means just that... If the drivers can get away with it and not take accountability they will continue to drive like idiots at the expense of ALL other road users and the holiday season death toll is worse than a friggin war zone death toll.
