Last week whilst on holiday we stopped at the Total garage near Stormsriver, when a taxi pulls up to the fuel pump next to us with a rental trailer and a cow tied up with a short rope around it's neck to the trailer's railings. The rope was too short for the animal to stand and too high for it to lie down. Needles to say the animal was bleeding profusely from its mouth and horns from being bashed around as the vehicle was moving. My wife was traumatised and close to tears. When I confronted the driver he just ignored my appeal to change the rope and said it was none of my business and he was on his way to a funeral where the animal was going to be slaughtered anyway.

I think he might have seen the dead dog next to the road on his way to the rubbish dumps, so he thought he'll do a good deed and drag the dead carcass the the rubbish dump? I like my version the most coz no1 can be that cruel.

I read in the local newspaper that an eye witness says that the dog was already dead. He (the driver) was on his way to the local garbage tip and didnt want the dog in the back of his pick up so he towed it behind his vehicle to the tip. This is however an eyewitness account, the matter is being investigated.
