So I purchased this saddle from flyxii when I still had my Giant TCR. I crashed and got a new scott foil and found out that Oval rails dont fit thr Foils seat clamp post. So I waited 3 months for nothing LOL. I gave it to a friend and will report back about what he has to say, but on first inspection it looks really good and solid. Very light at 113grams.

if only you first came to the hub, I also have a Scott foil had the same issue, just replaced the clamps, you get 2 types of clamps for those ritchey posts for oval or round rails.

Ah dammit. Well at least I helped a friend out who needed a saddle

I want to pull the trigger on a set of carbon wheels or rims... but need advice please (only from Hongfu).

I have a set of Fulcrum Racing 7 wheels... love them but not sure if its worth wile to just order "rims" from Hongfu instead of wheels.

Does anybody here know if their hubs + spokes will add more or less weight to my wheels... if unsure ill just buy the wheelset. So i want a low cost solution to get myself in the carbon wheels club... sure someone here had experimented with this. Seems everyone just buy wheelsets and not rims.

If i do buy i would like to buy with someone here (so we can share the shipping cost also).

So im open for either rimms or a wheelset (i dont want to exceed 50mm, so a 38 or 40mm will be great)... i am a weight weenie!!!!

It depends on width of the rim primarily. I have a 50mm set thats 25mm wide woth butex hubs and cx ray spokes and weighs 1530g. This is the stiffest option i could get as the thinner rims like the 19mm and 21mm wide rims tend to flex during attacks and sprints. And cause brake rubbing. If you want an excellent option for stiffness and weight id go for 23mm wide rims. Powerway hubs and a 38mm deepsection 23mm wide rimset will weigh in at about 1400g

So after months of lurking around here I eventually pulled the trigger on the carbon frames.  This was around September - right before the 'big strike'.  The goodies eventually arrived beginning of November.  At that point I was doing a lot of road riding - so the MTB frame stayed in the box.

Beginning of the year I started collecting all the parts.  The vast majority of items off TheHub - only a couple things bought new.

With the 100 Miler looming it was the ideal opportunity to break in a new bike and new saddle.  I threw the whole theory of never ridding new things on race day (not that I was racing).

164 KM later, no problems at all.  The seat post did slip a little in the last 5km's but I suspect that was me being over cautious with the torque.

All in all, good experience all round.  I might give her a splash of paint at some point but for now I'm enjoying the stealth look.

Supplier - XMIPLAY

Model - IP-036

Size - Small

Gruppo - SRAM X9 all round

Brakes - Avid Elixr 7's

Carbon Bar from XMIPlay

Seat post:  Thomson - only fitted post 100 miler.

Saddle - Spez Phenom

Although the dollar isn't very favorable at the moment, I would highly recommend going this route if you are considering it.  If for nothing else but the adventure.

Around 12kg on the nose.  As it stands there...

Not super lite, but not any heavier than my hardtail - so all good.
