Hey guys

This is very interesting and got me seriously thinking of making this my next build project....

What do you guys think of the following:

Frame: http://www.carbonality.com/gaea.html ($489) – R5000

or Frame: http://www.carbonality.com/orion-29er-1250g.html ($389)- R4000

Fork: http://www.carbonality.com/29er-mtb-fork-15mm-axle-thru.html ($149)- R1500

Handlebar: http://www.carbonality.com/bar-4.html ($39)- R400

Stem: http://www.carbonality.com/stem-2.html ($55)- R570

Seatpost: http://www.carbonality.com/carbon-seat-post.html ($55)- R570

What is the general import duties on these components? Is the frame regarded as a component?

My wife runs a logistics company and therefore I think she would be able to do the import quite well for me (hopefully).

What frame is the gaea that I have linked above very similar to in the name brand world?

Anyone keen on bringing in a few frames with me early next year?

Cheers

That gaea is closest to a Santa Cruz Highball. Rouxie brought 1 in. Sweaty Betty. PM him for details.

Thats awesome to know. I currently ride a santa cruz tallboy (real) carbon build.

so the hardtail china build that is similar to a highball will be an awesome addition to the family!

SERIOUSLY leaning towards the FM-057...

thanks for all the pointers so far,

Meezo, do you have the measurements and geometry?

I'll prob do the order in the new year, if anyone is keen on joining in to place a larger order.

Who would you all recommend I place it through?

Going

<BB still reading>

to continue tomorrow :)

I'd have gone 056 or 057 (hope hubs can go QR or TA) if I hadn't found my Highball frame for such a great deal. UD Matte is too tasty.

I'm keen on some bars and a seat post from Carbonal. Let me know if you will be placing an order. The more buyers, the better.

Hey there

I will be bringing in a fork, handlebar and seatpost from carbonal in the new year. Ordered my frame today coz they having a free shipping Christmas special on one of their 29er frames at the moment.

They are still going too hit you with VAT though.

I recently imported a few thingy's from China. I noted that the rims I wanted looked the same on Hong Fu, XMIplay and Carbonal sites. As far as I can tell, non of these guys manufacture the stuff. They just sell it on the internet. So when you pay, they order it from their supplier. (They call it preparation time...) They keep very little stock.

Then they send it off.

They rims were cheaper than those advertised by Carbonal, but I had to pay transport. Where you loose on the corners, you gain on the straights.

My order took 3 weeks to reach me
