Dude, with all due respect, read at least some of the thread before commenting.

If you genuinely do have an interest, you will find all your answers earlier in the thread...

How does that song go? "You took the words right out of my mouth..."

Am i going mad - I thought Omega 3 was good and Omega 6 bad... correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I'm right on this one...

Fat doesn't mean all fat. SATURATED fat = good. POLYUNSATURATED fat = bad. Omega 3 = bad.

Smimby, there's lots of info and links in the first post of the first page of this thread. I think it's important that you read through all those links and info up-front. It will be a great help in terms of understanding where people are coming from on this thread.

LCHF means 'Low Carb, High Fat'. It's about cutting out most of the carbs in our diet (except for the high quality, nutrient dense real-food carbs like low-carb vegies, etc) and replacing that with fat. It's about ridding ourselves of the tragedy of the myth that fats are bad and will kill you. The common enemy is sugar, refined carbs, starches and most grains.

We're talking about a min 50% fat in our daily diet, but more like 60 - 70% average daily intake, and up to 80% and more.

Noakes daily fat intake, as he openly writes about, is round 70%.

Protein will always be important to our diet and certainly plays a key role. But this is definitely not a high protein diet. In fact, you can easily eat too much protein if you aren't aware of what your body is able to consume.

No, omega 3's are frikking awesome, especially from fatty fish. Omega 3's from plants like faxseeds - not nearly as good, but still not bad.

I'm sure you mean the ratio of omega 6's to 3's that isn't 1:1 is Bad. The western diet can easily have a 6 to 3 ratio of up to 10:1. That's really, really bad.

Eat a lot more omega 3's and a lot less omega 6's.

Jislaaik, I ask a question and your first response is abrupt then you get sarcastic.....and you want me to value your opinion?

You asked a question & got a answer. then I posted a link where you could listen to the prof. More references available in the OP

The above link takes you to an article about USN and a product that is embroiled in a little controversy over composition claims.

What is interesting for me is the end of the article where Prof Noakes has a few disparaging comments to make about whey protein supplements.

Ha! Testing of labels for truth... Seems that is going to have some people blustering out explanations! Nice link.

Maybe everyone's wading through the reddit info?

The thread lost direction quickly without guidance from the experienced old guard.

Okes thinking LCHF was high protein and not high fat and taking offence when someone points out their ignorance (and it is ignorance if you can't be bothered to read the OP, nevermind the title).
