Nice! The Processes are proper brawlers.

The seat angle looks pretty slack. How does it handle techy climbs?

Yeah, not sure yet, haven't had it long enough for an opportunity to try. The only climbs i've done have been on relatively smooth switchbacks. One of the other places I ride has a couple of technical climbs, I'll give it a go.

But yeah, brawler is a good term, definitely

A question for the knowledgeable out there...

I currently ride a 2008 Mongoose Teocali Elite (M). Running 60mm stem and 800 bars with a dropper. I have an opportunity to get my hands on a Trance 2 (Large 2008 I think. Grey and silver frame with 4.2" travel) that is in nice condition running 120mm fork. Similar to this:

I am 1,78m tall so borderline large frame.

In your opinion would it be worth my while to swap the bits from the 'Goose over onto this?

Will put my Marzo 150mm on the Giant to slacken the head angle a bit as well as all the other parts.

Just an itch that may need to be scratched....

2008 is the one with 107mm rear travel. The teocali is a differnt class of bike, but then you know that...

Not sure of the geometry of the 2 bikes themselves, but I know the giant is quite short by modern standards (more like a small in the reach department) so it may not work out quite how you imagine it would...

If the reach / ett figures are more or less the same, then don't bother as IMO the teocali is the better bike (For YOU, given, well, your preferred riding) but if the giant is longer, then it would be better suited to you. And would LOVE a 150mm fork on the front, IMO.

2008 is the one with the "glory hole" shock mount (just bought one for the Mrs) and yeah has 107mm rear travel. The teocali is a differnt class of bike, but then you know that...

Thanks Myles. I don't think there is a lot in it as far as reach goes. (Not a substantial difference anyway). Will have an opportunity to ride it this weekend so will see what it feels like.

Yeah. IMO the 'cali is a great bike. And to overcome the 40mm difference in rear squish, teh Giant is going to have to be far more right for you ito sizing.

If the bike looks exactly like the 1 in the pic then make sure your Marzo's steerer is long enough.

Those Trance frames have stupid long head tubes.

I am 1.78m as well & my M Trance 2009 felt a tad short (TT & reach) so L should fit you perfectly.

170mm Lyrik RCT3 and Vivid Air can at the back!  Best of all is the price: €2.599

Yeah I've always had a thing for continuity of toptube into seatstays, so this is one sexy bike.  I would however take those decals off because they throw that continuity out for me.

And yeah, that price is unreal.

Supernice.

Looks kind of like an Ali Norco Range to me.

Dirt Mag rate it highly. Its a bit heavy but pedals well and bombs the DH -  at that price you can't complain. And they will send it to SA too.

Its a terrible affliction these itches. I think we all suffer from them to some degree.

I've managed to divert my new bike feening with small doses of old bike restoration...for now.

With regards to your pending decision. I've had a friend that suffered from this itch worse than anyone I knew. He bought and sold so many bikes its crazy. Always raved about the Teocali. (and Treks, he was crazy about Treks too) But he also went back to 3 different Teocali's over the years. That says a lot.
