It's also an absolute dog of a tyre for pedalling.

don't know hey, did not actually mind the HD on my old 26'er HT or 650B Trail bike ... rolling was fair with good straightline braking and decent feel in the corners ... but the HD on the front of the Trail bike is not  my best friend...we get along, but definitely will not be inviting it over for braai ... unless it is to burn the tyre before replacing it with a DHF II or DHR II for the front :P

Here I thought I was alone on this one... in a hard fast corner you think you're railing it... until you're not and you're on the ground in the dust looking like a chop! Well that's what's it like for me

Ohhhhhhh... #Excited.

Might be needing a new set of 650b wheels for my Banshee Spitfire...I'm sure the Lyne wheels will tick all the boxes...now will they just release them so we can all see!!!

That reminds me of exactly how my first ride on the Banshee was with the HD on the front ....... heart breaking hearing your helmet crunch when your head strikes the ground and you look up to see your newly acquired bike cartwheeling down the trail ... makes me nauseous just thinking about it.

The HT and Duallie I had come off were running a DHF II and DHR II respectively on the front, and these always felt like they were hooking up and would take care of you, watch your back and be your wing-man.

Waaahaha! Minions for life! Had a couple stomach in my mouth moments on "status quo" this past weekend with Wayne from ride rate review (lekker dude and big ups for showing us plebs some rad trails)... Must says the minions were what kept me from taking out a couple trees or myself... although my skill eventually ran thin and I went OTB on plumber

Had an HR II on the rear wheel a while back. One session at G-spot and the side knobs were ripping off. Was quite ironic, because at the time fingers were pointing at Schwalbe as being the sole criminal when it comes to knobs ripping off. Not saying all that finger pointing wasn't justified, but really, one session?  Lovely tire though. Would recommend it again, just perhaps not suited for the hardpack that is the lower sections of G-spot

Yeah, that must be it. Hard pack eats them up.  I tried it up front and at the rear. Works well on the rear and loves loose dirt.

What compound were you riding? Super tacky or 3c will not last on hardpack.... friend of mine has the hans damf on the rear swears by them and at them! Tyre literally disintegrates some more every ride

was 3c. maxterra carcass.

hans dampf. uurgh. What a finicky tread! Hypocritcally, there's one stuck to my rear wheel at the moment. Lack of preferred choice while waiting for a replacement to the E13 that killed itself. I'll wear that HD down first then move on up. That new E13 with improved sidewall stiffness and 'better' rolling capabilities, should be mighty interesting.

Currently, loving e13 rev 0 as a front tyre, except for that very pronounced sidewall squirm if pressure goes below a certain point (rider mass/riding style dependant). Funnily enough, going with a higher pressure than I normally would works out well with the E13. I think its higher sidewall compliance provides more foregiveness at a higher pressure.Less sidewall squirm, much lower probability of hitting the rim, but still providing plenty grip, not mention tempering that notoriously high rolling resistance.

Nice ... that a "Glen" ride?

That american that recently rode many of the cape trails, he has a cool vid of almost all Tbl mNt, Lions Head, SH trails. I'm glad there's footage. Can't remember his youtube channel name, but its linked to ride, rate, review. Same person? Seems a cool character.

BKXC was out with Wayne. Nice to see Pat's and the Glen (Ride Rate Review had covered them as well recently) He also rode some pretty nice illegal trails on the mountain as well. Not sure if that's a good or a bad. Nice to see them on screen but probably not cool for those in the constant negotiations with TM to open up more areas.

I think like any tyre they work better when brand new but even then not very well. In soft loamy soil they worked for me. Problem is that's almost never what I ride on. The biggest problem are those puny side knobs that tear and fold. I have a reasonable looking SG version which I tried as a rear tyre and it was utterly junk. No off camber grip on anything.   A  Rock Razor is far superior. I'd never consider using one of these on the front.
