Been enjoying my enduro HT all over again. It is amazing what a difference a tyre can make. I bought a couple of Ardents from Stoke several weeks ago. One went on the front of the HT the other on my wifes bike. I loved it - volume is massive for a 2.4 and grip is pretty good on anything that isn't too soft i.e sand. One thing that had been bothering me on the bike was having to run quite high pressure out back on a worn Maxxis 2.3 dhr 2 leading to a very choppy ride. I bought another Ardent EXO 2.4 and fitted that. Running it at 28 psi its like chalk and cheese. The ride is far more compliant and climbing grip is very much better. Its the comfort and feeling of having a teeny bit of suspension that has made the biggest difference since I built the bike up. post-14003-0-63869300-1541417740_thumb.jpg

So what I take out of that is that your hardtail now rides better with some suspension...

Before and after: Fastest way to lose 1kg on the bike: Get rid of 530ml oil in the lowers, remove coil spring and move from 38mm to 35mm stanchions. Huge shout out to Cape Cycle Systems for making this possible, and getting me on to this super new Lyrik RC2.

I'm looking forward to taking her out for her first ride tomorrow. This past weekend wasn't possible 'cos kid duties.

what rise are those spanks? 50mm? looking for some decent riser bars 30-40mm but they're like chicken teeth...and the black spanks look like crap with the white branding. only option for decent looking ones at this stage for my bike's color is the black on black raceface atlas bars at 35mm rise but they are also 35mm clamp so thats means more stiff and a new stem :-(
