it's on display at Blacksheep Bikes if you want to go have a look. Even though i'm building the orange '26 ain't dead version',  every time I go in there and I see that frame sitting on the display shelf  I hear voices in my head telling me to "Do IT..."

I'm looking forward to taking her out for her first ride tomorrow. This past weekend wasn't possible 'cos kid duties.

Dropper is still a giant unit, on loan from a friend after mine finally packed up after 3 years service. But yeah, only thing stock is the frame, shock hardware and crank. Oh, and the rear TA. EDIT: Wait, it came stock with a 125mm reverb, so the Giant unit is aftermarket after all. 

 

I was reasonably surprised by the weight of the bike when the Marzo was still on... 15.05kg, on what is a reasonably heavy duty build and with that monster of a coil at the back as well. With the Lyrik on it should be in the low 14's.

My "enduro" ...Im new to MTBing ...in my youth did many miles on dirt bikes trails , enduros etc etc...got a el cheopo Axis last year and was fortunate to get this TREK this year about 2 months ago ...man o man I LOVE riding the trails again....att 55 its like Im back on the trails when I was 20!!!

AND this TREK aka "Benji" is such a beaut to ride ....

Need to get a proper ride in. Not sure if its this weekend. Things are kinda crazy at the moment

My Dee Dar is minus a fork at the moment. My last ride was on Monday and included bouncing down about 15 log steps and a hard hit off a drop off. On Thursday morning while busy sorting out some leaking front rim tape issues I noticed that the fork had lost all damping control. No rebound or compression. Seems the damper bladder popped and deposited all the oil in the leg. I could hear it sloshing around. Its at Stoke getting a damper rebuild. Eish.

Bummer. Happened to my mate Pieter at Ezel last year as well. also a Pike with a blown damper. 

 

In other news, I dinged up that Spaz wheel we discussed. Proper ding with a flat spot. Somehow tyre is still holding air though. Super bleak about it.

Ouch. I saw the IG pic of the rim. My Spaz back wheel is worse. Going to hammer it until it falls apart which may be quite soon. If I dont keep the tyre really hard it leaks at one of the ding spots on the bead.

 

That fork of mine is  4 years old and has been ridden quite hard. Should be good for another 4...
