Canondale missed a trick here. They should have had a truckload of the baggies for sale during the Epic while they were still hot. I've been looking for baggies that do not run up my quads while I am pedalling, but they all seem to move around and hamper my upward pull on the pedal stroke. If I see any decent ones in Canada I'll get a pair or 2 for those shorter-than-two-hour rides.

I love my fox ranger's....they fit very nice

... were dished out 29ers by their sponsors, so they won. But they would also win on a 24er... so all the sheep rushed out and bought 29ers!!

To be honest as well in SA we are slowly getting forced this direction my bike importers. Just look at the 26er vs 29er stocks of bikes, tires etc. I laughed at the GF the other day we walked into a shop and she was looking at tires. She likes to try loads of different types of tires but the range for 26er was extremely small. The one tire she did love they no longer bring to the country in 26 format.

But yes the pro's will win on anything. I once learnt not to follow them when i rushed out and bought the same tires. My dad did the same. First race we both fell 3 times on easy sections. They just had no grip on the loose gravel. Needless to say it was the last time I acted like a sheep and bought what the pro's had......

Dropppppppppeeeeerrrrrrrr SEEEAAATPOOOOOST! :)

I agree with the foot slip off, sucks. but thats why i use flats with spikes on them as its harder for that to happen and when it does happen (happens to cleat riders too if there is a pedal strike) its quicker for me to recover.

Yip, and it could be argued that dropper seat posts are as fashionable as 29'ers.

Perhaps we need to understand that any sport will evolve and the practitioners within said sport will normally follow the evolution.

It's kind of a get on or get left behind scenario.

Their is a place under the sun for all types of cyclists.

Its pretty simple..... bikes and cycling related stuff is very expensive. Most people dont want to make too many expensive mistakes when buying bikes and R1500 bibs etc...... So we look to the pro's equipment and kit, and model our purchases around them... Because "its tried and tested"...... Hence sponsorship plays suck a large marketing roll for manufacturers....
