Started watching Ozark on Friday ... rather decent ... kind of a mix of Breaking Bad and Fargo

There's a series on NetFlix called ATypical - really enjoying that atm. 

about a kid on the autism spectrum and his life .

Dr Who has a massive following, but I just can't seem to get into it because of the low budget effects in the first seasons.

 

Is it worth pushing through and carrying on?

Unfortunately when I notice bad/low budget effects it spoils a show for me no matter the quality of the story.

Falling Skies' later seasons. Completely flippen ruined it for me and I never finished it, despite hearing how good it turned out.

Depends on the writing and the cast. Personally I think David Tennant was absolutely brilliant and had some of the best-written episodes. I've never been as fond of any of the other Doctors, though they all have their fans, and quite frankly the writing in the recent seasons has been appalling.
