I reckon he did.. he knew very well what he did (start a war out of jealousy ). ..and this is why I think so... Remember when Robert and Ned were heading back to King's Landing, they were sitting around camp and Robert was quizzing Ned about Jon's mother... I think he knew that Ned never fathered a bastard. .not Ned..he knew Ned had gone to look for his sister and at the same time came back with a baby.. Also probably why Ned didn't stop Jon from joining the night's watch, at the wall he would be safe from Robert.

Well that's my theory and I am sticking with it[emoji14]

Time will tell, but I'm pretty certain he didn't abduct her... when Sir Barresten thinks you're a good guy, (he spoke very positively of Rhaegar) I reckon you probably are. And it was more a case that Lyanna (like Arya who she is apparently like) wasn't too keen on the idea of being betrothed, let alone to someone like Robert with bastards all over the show.

These episodes are too damn far apart though

For sure and this was confirmed last night.. Rhaegar had his marriage to the Martel lady annulled and him and Lyanna were secretly married in Doorn. .. Sam wasn't paying attention when Giddy read it to him.. I am sure he will have his aha moment sure enough.

I must be the only person in the ('western') world who hasn't watched a single episode of GOT.

Not the only. Tried to read one of Georgie Porgie's books once and gave up in flat despair. He might be a good world-builder but I found him a deadly dull writer. Therefore I had no interest in watching the series when it started and based on the descriptions I've glanced I doubt I'd find it to my taste, even though I'm a huge fantasy fan.

If I had any fascination with evil people being cruel to one another for money or power I'd start following politicians on Twitter.

The imp is getting soft.

Enjoyed him more when he was drinking and visiting brothels

theres a whole fan theory about the imp also being tygarean and the third dragon rider...but it could just as easily be Jamie...but now that Jamie is a new daddy..I doubt he will be straying far from kings landing

I rather think the Bran will be the one to 'ride' the 3rd dragon.. by warging with the dragon..

The more Tyrion has to deal with war and the effects of it , the more we see he just doesn't have the stomach for it.

As for Jamie. ..I reckon he'll leave/kill Cersei at some point.. she is bad and nuts and refuses to see the big picture and she just doesnt care avout anyone..and Jamie has started to see that and if she is preggers I am not sure it is his or even human..that hand of hers dabbles in dark stuff..

"deadly dull writer"

I found that you have to invest some time & effort to get into the complex world he created, once you do it is a very unique series of books.

What I like about his books is how most characters are not strictly good or bad (unlike most fantasy series where who is good & bad are pretty straight forward) but shades of grey, good guys do bad things and vica versa, and the extent of their "goodness" or "badness" can shift all the time.

Also he is quite happy to kill off main characters at seemingly random times which makes it very hard to predict the story arc (again unlike most fantasy stories where the main characters will only die heroic deaths right at the end)

So I am going to respectfully disagree with your "deadly dull" jibe

I have no quarrel with your disagreement. Nor is it my intention to try and persuade you. To put it in context, I feel exactly the same about Tolkien: Fantastic world-builder, boring writer.

Tastes differ, as I have long ago accepted. Another example is the highly-rated Malazan Book of the Fallen series by Erik Larsen. Have tried twice to read it and never got past the first couple of chapters.

Nowadays, there are so many fantasy writers that I DO enjoy that I do not begrudge Georgie all his fame and fortune.

The news that David Tennant has been cast in the adaption of Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, for instance, has been cause for great celebration! Now, there are a couple of fantasy authors whose works I simply cannot get enough of.

Dude... Malazan is a chore to get in to, but once you're in.... JOH.

Same as Tolkein. Took me a good 4 attempts to get into it before I was hooked.

Look I will just be happy when Little finger dies..and hopefully at the hand of Arya.. the bastard is now playing the girls against each other and he'll probably try harm Bran too as Bran quoted his owns words back to him last episode 'Chaos is a ladder'.

Ja, Littlefinger isn't my favourite character either.

I did read Tolkien when I was in high school, but have since discovered so many fantasy authors I enjoy more. Did think of reading the trilogy again a few years ago, but after a few pages decided I'm old enough now to know what I like and what I don't.

Confession: I just remembered that I also couldn't stand the Harry Potter books. I borrowed the first three after they came out from a friend and after I read them I felt like a kid who had eaten three giant bags of candy.

Was so sick of Harry Potter that I never bothered to watch the movies when they came out (though I have seen the first one and bits and pieces of the rest since then).

LOL. Agreed. The later books were far more "adult"

As were the later movies

I was never able to finish Lord of the Rings.. nee hell I battle to understand why I need to read about Frodo spending 40 pages climbing a mountain. . BUT. .it's thanks to that book that we have great fantacy novels..

Psst.. I know who can play Druss if they ever made a movie or series.

Tada.. he may however be a tiny tiny bit too good looking. .but we ourselves a Druss[emoji23][emoji23] Jason Momoa

Gosh I miss Drogo. .
