What TV shows are you watching?

[Capricorn]

Seven Seconds. Thoroughly enjoyed this mini-series. Premise is simple enough: cops involved in the death of a young black male. but the story telling is great with a taut storyline sustaining suspense and a sense of drama without the viewer needing to resorting to pseudo-intellectualism to justify vulgar violence or nudity (altered carbon rings that bell hard). 

 

It feels similar to another great show, Shots Fired, but Seven Seconds feels better paced.

My daughter and I have pulled lost out of the archives and she is watching it for the first time and I am enjoying it again. Outside of knowing about the shitty ending..I am thoroughly enjoying it again and it's interesting seeing the perspective of a new viewer. Still rates up there as a great TV show... Especially considering its 12 years old already

I found a series on Netflix that's very funny  - called Mortified - about people sharing their childhood experiences - reading from their journals. Very real, very funny.

Mortified is actually a podcast first and foremost. I subscribed to it for a bit and one annoyed me so much (some yank who came to south Africa) I unsubscribed immediately.

One of my all time favorites. Missing binge watching this late at night way back. Was still living with my parents when it aired

Watched the first couple of seasons on mnet and then they delayed it so started downloading from s03. First series I downloaded I think.

really - was not aware of it. why'd it annoy you? I can't watch a whole lot at a go, but so far I've enjoyed it.

I think what annoyed me about it was that it was mostly millennial types reading from their diary.. Very wishy washy..... Maybe it's a sign I'm getting old.

i had a discussion with the OH - as he was watching it when I came home the one night and he was having a good laugh, i watched a few minutes and then I said I call BS - who remembers and still has their diaries etc - but then I guess some do. 

 

 

last night watched the series of people coming out - and how they first realised they were gay , that was pretty cool. I guess I just like the human experience of it. But definitely not a binge watch thing - small doses.

Finished the first season of Everything sucks. I enjoyed it. Started watching the secnd season of Better call Sol. I enjoy that after Breaking bad, kind of cool to get another perspective on Sol’s side of the story.

So I never watched a single GOT episode. During the holidays I binged watched all 7 series. Wasnt bad. A little too much dragons and fantasy for my liking, but I still found it entertaining. Decided to start watching Vikings, just started season 2 now, but must say its a little of a let down after all the shock endings of GOT.

Tried d/l the next two seasons of The Fall, but struggling to find a stream that works.

 

On a side note, I don’t know how I got through life when DSTV was around, as I’m hardly watching any TV now and I’m struggling to get through all the stuff that life throws at me.
