hi all

Can you guys send me links for Chinese Carbon frames and 29" Carbon Wheels. :D

Nothing like being lazy, as there are many frames and manufacturers, try doing some research first and then asking for more detailed and specific questions in the freds that Brian fantana gave you the link to.

Go to aliexpress.com. Type in search "carbon mtb frame". Also have a look at their led bicycle lights, riding gear, and just about anything you would like. Only drawback, you pay in $$$!

Ahhhh ye ol fongkong ala speciarized / chinarello

The good: It is a little cheaper to build something up in carbon, its fun sourcing parts and groupos...bargain hunting everywhere. Also you can choose exactly what you want. They are also extremely efficient and if you have the bucks you could have a frame in a week. Color scheme? well you have a blank canvas....choose whatever you want except if you want to copy a name brand....then please go get a name brand. Another plus is that you can customize your finish and bottom bracket type

The bad: You make peace with the fact that if something should go wrong the warranty process at best will be a schlep and turnaround will be longer than if you bought a name brand from a local agent. This will put you out of action for a while. Also it helps if you know how to build a bike from a bunch of stuff sitting on a garage floor. Small things like a bent derailleur hanger becomes a mission so get 2 when you order a frame. This goes hand in hand with issues like thru axles for the rear which doesn't ship with the frame, you have to source this yourself from somewhere. You need to know your BB, headset and thru axle standards.

The ugly: The finishing although good isn't as perfect as the name brands...Don't get me wrong, it isn't noticeable if you just look at the bike, but go over it with magnifying glass side by side to top end name brand frame and little things will stick out. It not a dealbreaker but if you want perfection, buy it. Common areas where finishing is lacking is the BB shell, headset tube and the top of the seattube.

I can recommend carbonality as I dealt with them and preferred their geometry in the 29er GAEA.

Horses for courses.....if you want to do something fun, on the cheap and know the risks...then go ahead. If you want peace of mind, perfection and less admin then go name brand.
