Does my Giant TCR Comp count as a Chinese frame?

mmmmm I know of one. It is about 18 months old...flyxii if I remember correct.

 

JCmeyerSS's boet's frame...he cracked it last weekend on the spruit doing a gap jamp we suspect. He is an animal though and rides his bikes HARD.

 

He is getting it fixed though...two crackes straight through on both chainstays very close the brake caliper mounts....both sides, same place

 

Yeah Frame is 18 months old and has about 4500km on it.

I have put about 1000km on it and I'm a racey 102kg

My bro has put the rest on and he is 92kg.

The bike gets punished, gap jumps, drop offs and countless endos.

Its done many MTN marathons, trailseeker marathons and weekends in Mankele and Sabie.

 

Here is a pic of the break. Happened on the 5th time he hit gap jump on the spruit between virgin active and Tana rd.

I wore my GT I-drive out after only 20 000km. Frame was worn out at BB linkage so I bought a 2nd/h Raleigh which will last for the next 20k km... Dunno where they are made!!

1x look road frame cracked with me, was swapped out no questions asked. I believe it was flown back to the factory as this was the first recorded manufacturer fault on that frame

I also know of 2x Specialized SL frames that were replaced for paint/clear coat cracks.

 

I have paint cracks on my Spez SL2 but warranty only covers 2 years on paint so i can't get a SL4 unless i break my SL2, JC you willing to ride my tar bike?

I was on that ride, he would have snapped a steel "pos kantoor fiets" he rides like a savage, respect!

I've snapped a Momsen frame, whilst at my current racing weight of 105kg.

Do a search and you will find that all frames can and do break, i am not sure if it is an inditement to the Chinese frames, the real question would be, What is the ratio between Chinarello and bigger brand's frames failing? That is the only way you could make an objective comparrison. I am convinced that the results of the above will surprise us all....
