Action plan...

  • Put together a proposed build layout.
  • Wonder around the park with my hands behind my back whistling (for days) waiting for a few people to use the park, discuss with them and try get them to support the cause.
  • Contact ward councillor.

Use sweets to lure the kids and convince them to sign your petition. After that the ward councillor will probably call you!

To talk about my build or to tell me the parents in the hood are worried?

Lighties up the road spent a few weeks building some jumps on a scrappy little piece of municipal land, the week after they finished it and started having a jol riding it the municipality or someone brought in the bulldozers and flattened them.

Bullies! Like smashing kids sandcastles!!

ooh do share?!

You show me yours and I will show you mine....so here is the deal

Bring one of those monster truck bikes of yours, we go to the jumps, and you teach me how to jump...deal?

I can do smallish little jumps like in front of the virgin active on the sprint, but when table is longer than 1,5m I struggle

Just start digging, government cant even pursue criminal or stop strikes on national highways.... That is if they are reachable at office for any complaints that may arise. So i say go for it build it anonymously ;)

They will always find time to ruin fun. It's too hard to chase criminals, so the honest public are the next best fix!

These guys have been building jumps there for a very long time, used to messa round there when we still lived there...the jumps were much easier in those days...

They will be able to give you good advice. Not sure if they got permission as their jump track is not really in an offical park... its the open vlei next to between the bokkie park and Rondebult road.

Ok so this is a little awkward! I just jumped in the car when I saw the address. These jumps are 1,2km from me :whistling:

we currently have an issue in slumtown regarding a similar issue.

I suggest you contact your ward councilor and discuss the issue with him/her and assist you with getting the required approvals from fellow residents and the municipality.

There was a meeting this evening at Old Boys, do you know whats happened.

Getting municipal approval for something like this is nearly impossible. Too much red tape.

It falls into the same category as potholes ~ they are supposed to fix them, but don't, then when you fix them yourself they threaten you with all sort of legal issues.
