Hi All

Restless legs torment me most nights... Slow mag offers some reprieve, but it has side effects for me such as tingling fingers the next day.

Does anyone have some advice for my sleep depriven tormented soul???

Please any advise would be appreciated!

Same problem. I use Calmag. The benefits are not immediate tho. You've got to take it for a few weeks before you see any benefits.

Disclaimer. I wouldn't take heath advice from an internet forum.

RLS is a bitch.

I tried supplements but with not much improvement. I've also tried to see if hard training/rest/diet or any other external thing affects it, and I cannot find a pattern. The only thing is if I ride late in the day it is definitely worse that night. It is hereditary as my dad, uncle and gran have it too

I am on a med for Parkinson's called Pexola, the GP can prescribe it. As far as I know it is the same med Zola Budd takes as she has done a TV ad for it. It helps, but is not 100% effective. However if I don't take it I cannot sleep at all, I lie there like a twitching zombie all night.

I am about to take some long overdue leave and I am hoping that some of it is stress related, will let you know :)

I've noticed the same effect but it always seems to occur after a few days of little or no training following a lengthy period of training i.e. if you have been training for months and then something happens that you cannot train. On resuming normal training regime the RLS goes away.

Would also like to know what causes it

I've done a bit of research into RLS, I'm convinced that I have it too. From what I have read, there is no cure, in fact they don't even know what causes it. They believe that it is a neurological disorder.

I find that if I wake up with the pain, I lie on my back and stretch my legs. The pain disappears and I am fine for 2 hours or so. But from what I have read, the symptoms and pain differs from person to person.

I also have it but not that bad.

My OCD is worse. I always need something to do and cannot sit still and relax.

and if I haven't trained for more than a day I get depressed.

I have been suffering from RLS since 1995...it nearly drove me crazy. I tried everything....my fatigue was so bad that a house rule was that if I was sleeping then leave me be..then a Dr Friend of mine prescribed PEXOLA....like an earlier post..THIS works for me. The side effects are all worth the relief.....drowsy soon after taking the tablet....cheapest hangover EVER....BUT this is worthwhile trying personally, I hope it works for you!!!! a prescription is required !!!!!

I found a special tissue salt mix works well and also doing some serious stretching and keeping my legs/feet cold (out the duvet ) helps. Very frustrating! Will also be following this thread closely. Find it is worse when I haven't been spinning or exercised.
