The one thing scaring the @%@$% out of me about the Urban MTB Assault course, have never ridden floating bridges before, and I don't want to engage submarine mode.

Just carry on pedalling. Regardless of what happens in front of you, just carry on. It's when you stop that you have trouble*

 

*purely conjecture, no actual bridge riding experience, just going on common sense and logic

Like Captain says keep on pedalling, but make sure you leave enough of a gap between you and the person in front of you. the worst thing you can do is catch up to the person in front while on the bridge as the weight will result in both of you going down, plus this way you have enough time to react if something happens to the guy in front.
